Dealer is still tops Glen. Lund is as useless as ti ts on a bull. The dealer ragged on Lund and Merc all winter to get to the bottom of how things were wired in the power steering so either I could fix it or them in the spring....and got no joy out either of them. It came to the point that Mercury wouldn't come up to work on it so I'd have to go without my boat for a period of time...clean out the gear, remove all the personal belongs etc, leave it at the marina and then have them haul it to Mississauga's Mercury facility... so they could poke around in it trying to find the issue. I had more confidence/peace of mind in doing it myself and not wondering if my boat was being stolen off an industrial site in Mississauga. Oh and Glen.. yes... I still have my hat! LOL

I've scouted the route by air a couple of times now...all the way up Temagami to Sharp Rock Inlet... into Diamond... up it's North Arm.. avoid the outflow of and into the bottom of Lady E's South W arm. It's a good 40 miles by sled and then to a spot on Lady E to fish !! If it's warm... possibly doable if I bring the cutter for fuel cans ! Reminds me.. gotta go find a heated helmut so I don't sacrifice another ear lobe this winter. Now... enough of this cold crap....at least three months of soft water to go I hope!

Paul.. there's no hype in the IPS Hull praise. It's the quietest/smoothest riding boat I've ever had in my lifetime of boating (since 5 years old). Issues I've had with Lund pretty much all pertain to their "pre-packaging" and 2007 was their first year to do this. Substandard wiring/fishfinder installation etc. Boat hull Flawless/leakless etc. Definitely some issues with storage holes that are poorly designed in the realm of keeping stuff dry and I had one minor upholstery issue. That said... I did have a 4 page snag sheet at delivery! $(*@%@*%@$

Angry at the crappy "summer" weather we had... of course I'll get no tears around here for that! LOL A/C ran once this summer back in June. Heat was on every night through out the summer to maintain the cottage at 60F. Lost count of the snow/hail/sleet days... and nights down to 2C in AUGUST! I remember Leah talking with Bly one day in late July or early August. Bly standing in front of her Air conditioner and at the same time I was just lighting the wood stove to dry the place out for Leah. Speaking of which.. no matter how much I razz Carole/Bly about her weekly to bi-weekly FOUR hour phone calls to Leah......I've got to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Leah through a real tough summer. Stan.. fish porn will have to wait! (and there's not much anyhow.. think we fished 9 times) Gotta a fishing trip to pack for and have to pick Dano up at 9am tomorrow. We'll be back next Friday and then I may get time before heading North again around Thanksgiving. If not it will be late October before I get much up on OFC.

Thanks for the great recap Dan and the hospitality (let alone the brand new tent!)!!! It was an unforgetable experience and the fishing was great too LOL !! I'd fish with any of the 4 involved anytime. Spending 19 hours stuck in Marathon though was a tad much for me and I could care less if I see the place again. Thank god the lads were stuck there with their Bell 407 as well, for conversation, and also had something to do/get dirty with (tore all the covers off and helped do an annual inspection on it with the AME riding in it). That and the flight from Chapleau to Marathon that I can't even write about or TC would pull my licence.......... Hopefully I find the time before heading back up North, after Thanksgiving, to get my reports together. Have over 1500 pics from May until Sept 22 to go through and 200 alone from the Temagami to Nipigon to Temagami 4 days ! Right now it's a scamble to get to Montreal by diner on Sunday with Dano.

After last year.. was considering just staying home and using the time to hunt GBay Muskie.... but hey.. BOQ's a good time as well. If it gets hammered down to a certain date and we have a gathering spot, safe boat spot (water or land) might consider it again.

I would have held back 30 grand and they'd never have seen it to date. In August I fixed my power steering issue myself, after getting nowhere with either Lund or Mercury since last fall as to what wiring could possible cause the problems I was having. I dug into it myself and 4 hours later we're good! Add that to all the other issues at delivery and I'm still red assed with a quarter on the dresser. That said... I wouldn't trade mine for anything, just too comfortable of a machine. Especially now that I had a drop curtain made to keep my sweetheart warm and dry.

Must be a strip joint somewhere for you to put in the night bud........
