  1. Make a real mess when I air dropped it onto your street Roy!
  2. Damn it Quesnel.... if you'd said I won I might have flown you a cold case of Carling into camp!!!!
  3. Raf.. I don't care what you buy... just make sure the damn thing has mirrors on it that you can actually see behind the boat. After todays ride home from the lake I'm sick and tired of that are pulling pontoon boats with Honda CRV's and stock mirrors! IDIOTS !
  4. Na... my sis-in-law is still teasing me 30 years later Roy! I WAS gone Dan.. managed 10 days and got 2 out of 3 ice broken docks repaired before the latest family .... up. Exact same day.. same time.. a year later. July 8th @ 5pm. Last year the cops called me and told me my sister was dead.. this year it was my brother's doctor calling him to tell him is aviation medical was officially suspended and he is already admitted and having an Angiogram/plast in the morning in Mississauga. Thank God he's a airline pilot with a mandatory medical every 6 months or the outcome would be similar to last year!
  5. Some real nice porn there Ron !!! Guess my invite got lost in the mail....
  6. Thanks for the report Dara!!!!! Some nice fish in that mix! Water is LOW everywhere...
  7. I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me...It was her beautiful younger sister. My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else. One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word. She said, 'I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.' I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car. Lord... and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, 'We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.' And the moral of this story is: Always keep your condoms in your car.
  8. We always skipped the worries and dropped our lab off at the local trainer/boarding kennel. Even though her specialty was King Sheppards she loved him to death.. took him to the mall to keep his obedence in check.. gave him a nice bath, spoiled him with treats, etc ..... while we enjoyed our vacation/camping outings without the worries of whether our dog was bothering neighbouring campers or attracting predators to our children.
  9. Thanks for that Roy !! Real nice to see Jim looking healthy and Marc putting them on fish! Now back to packing the boat.. lol
  10. Paul.. did you call the dealer you bought the boat from?? That cover should be covered and they should send you a new one for FREE.
  11. Thanks Rob.. be no surprise.. it's been in Lake Temagami for over a decade. Only seems to be an issue when running baits below 70 feet.
  12. Yah.. well.. that last picture of Sergent Cements processing building.. it was all cement block. It exploded outwards.. while Huronia Steel only lost part of it's roof and no wood trusses. The widest of any spot that I could see where it went thru is no more than 70 feet wide, other than the trailer park where it meandered a bit.. then went up into the field behind Home Depot and then across thru the Honda car lot and Ideal supply.. then it lifted up again before setting back down on #12 and taking a lot of Webers roof off.
  13. I just came in from flying bud... landed just as it blew threw here. Torrental rain..lost 1/2 my friggin laneway gravel again !
  14. Dang... wait 'till the spiel mod gets that one! lol
  15. Great stuff Paul!!! Glad to see your cousin keeping the tradition going...
  16. All this rain the last week.. the blood sucking vampires are out in full force and the deer flies are bad as well.
  17. Ya sorry to anyone on dial up.. I downsized those at full resolution for clarity.
  18. With a glimer of hope... 7 am to 2 pm staring at the radar, I saw a VERY small window of opportunity between rain waves and managed to get her out of here! Absolutely made a mess out of the runway.. but with more rain in the forecast it wasn't really an option. My customer will be here at 9am to take delivery... and I can't have him stuck at my house! Unfortunately I now know that I can't risk trying to get mine out as well.. so I'll be driving North. At least Leah will have company instead of towing the boat up herself! lol Weather held long enough to make 4 landings on the pavement and one in Midland Harbour to wash all the mud off the bottom of the floats and out of the landing gear mechanisms!
  19. Shots taken today.. 4 full days later. Most of the mess is cleaned up.. but you can see the destruction. I videoed the path.. but it didn't turn out well.. in the mist and rain.. Amazing how selective a path it takes. Totally removes a steel building.. yet leaves an 80 year old ladies wood clad home unscathed 35 feet away!
  20. Thanks for the refresher Paul !!!! Some nice fish there and how can you beat a get away to Rick's camp? I hope to be on my way by Tuesday night/Wednesday latest!!!! Drop in next time you're up if you run out of beer...
  21. Thanks for the porn Larry! Nice fish indeed...
  22. Certified.. 4 seat.. Piper LOW WING.. he's out of luck there most likely. There might be one STC (supplimental type certificate) out there to allow it but I am not certain and why I stick with "homebuilts" where we can do what ever we want (as long as we can justify the safety). I have seen a Cherokee 160 on floats though, a long time ago, so I know it can be done. Wouldn't be a great float plane though and docking becomes a BIG issue with a low wing.
  23. Actually Terry.. everything needs to have a centre of gravity for the flight part. The wing can only lift over a certain range.. on these ones it's from 7.7 to 19.7 inches behind the leading edge of the wing. Think of being on the teeter totter with the big fat kid in grade 3! You went home crying... the same thing will happen if you get outside that allowable envelope. Everything gets weighed and it's C of G calculated to balance the teeter totter. I like to have it empty somewhere around 9.5 to 11 inches.. as this allows you to load the cabin and the c of g will move back. If you start off empty too far back.. you won't be able to put anything in the thing.. even fuel moves the c of g back. Too far back... nose pitches up and Any further forward to start off and when light on fuel and alone it will be nose heavy and want to dig in on water landings. That's not good either! I've done enough of these now that I know the floats weight and c of g already.. the aircraft I have to consider and adjust the float position accordingly to get what I want.. wave a wand and presto.. the tangerine one came in at 10.95" after weighing it up completed. I also retract the gear and roll the airplane on a pipe until it balances hands off.. and check the measurement matches the calculated, just to be 100% certain. As for where to put the floats.. the bottom "step" gets located in relation to that envelope I just mentioned. Usually about 9" behind the wings rear c of g limit. The angle the floats are mounted at in relation to the wing.. length of attach struts etc... that's just my own "black magic" from doing this for over 15 years.... that I won't share on an open forum.
  24. Well I might not get there so fast.. Looked like it was starting to clear, but now it's raining! I just can't win with this one.. Dan.. hopefully we'll still be there when you and yours get up in September. The beer will still be free.. for your wife!
  25. Manual is available here.. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Manuals/ Just be sure to put the +12 from the battery thru a switch.. or the console master.. Do NOT wire it direct to the battery as shown!
