  1. Forecast was 10K wind from the SW. There was no wind at all when I left home Andy. Great thing about float flying, there is usually somewhere to get the nose into the wind. Funny part was docking... I shut the engine down and drifted back to my neighbours dock. Fired back up and drove up to mine.. got out the passenger door and tied the airplane to the dock and then got back in and shut the engine down!
  2. Congrats on pulling in those beauties!! Sure reminds me to get the boat changed up and out there...
  3. Yes Chris, I have it mounted out on the wings strut... as for the "turbulence".. it takes some work to stick your arm out 3 feet at 80 MPH and push a shutter button!! lol Yes Terry, the Gopro Hero HD. On the boat trip I had the waterproof cover on and sound is definitely there you just have to turn it way up. Same cover on for flying... it's just a tad louder than people talking on a boat!
  4. Here's the first one... leaving home to head North for the Summer. If you are epileptic.. please don't watch!! If you have a good internet connection and a good video card click it up to 1080HD ! This video gives some good vistas of both Midland and Penetang Harbours for those that fish the area. Snake and Present Islands as well as Beausoleil Island National Park. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5ohFwavVh0?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5ohFwavVh0?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5ohFwavVh0?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Arriving in Temagami about and hour and a half later to an unforecast 30K gusting 50 wind that didn't favour the main channel direction. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qckIill8rc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qckIill8rc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qckIill8rc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Departing from Fry Lake, after a one pike and two bass day, for town. I rowed my Sportspal the entire perimeter of the lake. 6 hours of (push) rowing my sportspal. About 2 hours shy of getting back to the airplane, rowing against a 15k wind, I thought I wasn't gonna make it back to the airplane. And yes I owe someone a case of beer. Wish we had of had video of the constant "There's one" .. "Got it"!! as we hammered lake trout after lake trout.
  5. If you need some custom wood work, Dara is your man!

  6. .. and some wonderful things come out of Dara's workshop. Leah was estatic with her 28th anniversary present my friend. Certainly saved me for another year!!
  7. Thanks!
  8. Is it the I-35-IR model??
  9. LOL.. Terry was asked first, but something about a "Swivel Servant" not being able to book time off for the first time in 10 years....
  10. Hey it could have been you bud.... I do supply goggles!!!
  11. It came out pretty clear for her, that's for sure. Her still shots are generally blurry and we were doing about 45 MPH there at lift off.
  12. The real p off is that it appears Ontario Law and MNR regulations state that if the property owner doesn't post their land as no tresspassing, no hunting or both, it's to be taken as fair game. Of course this is totally wrong that nobody has to respect private property, but it is the way the MNR states land use for hunters in their regulations and on their website. It's a real issue at my place. No posting signs and I have guys showing up from Barrie, Mississauga and Waubashene all the time...
  13. Thanks.. and I'll add that it's not a stocked lake either! Flesh is this beautiful colour and the taste is the best I've ever had in my life. Pickeral can step aside for these ones!
  14. Definitely not Dax. Same reason a wing is blunt at the front and tapered at the back (it creates lift that way). The other reason is smooth airflow off the rear of the canoe. If you had the flat end back there it would blank airflow over the stabilizer and nobody would like that last ride.
  15. Just starting to go thru the 500 pictures we took, in the last 3 months, and the 18 videos I shot in 1080 HD. Here's Leah's best shot that I can remember in a long time. Lloyd and I taking off during fog lift for a back lake never to be disclosed. .. oh and are you having fun yet Lloyd??? There's one... got it !! There's one.. got it! Over 100 lakers per day.. Water clarity (see down over 35 feet) and colour is just amazing on this lake. Hopefully I can find some time in the next month to put together a proper report for the summer.
  16. He'd get the total fire supression bill Connie, that's for sure. Kinda an inverse of paying in advance before lighting your burn barrel behind the house. That whole situation sucked down there for sure. Hope all is well with you and yours, and that you've paid your $75 ! Wayne
  17. One of our coal fired subs took a wrong turn at Dartmouth...
  18. Thanks!
  19. Paul... we do have them well trained though, don't we!
  20. Thanks Skud! Nice shot. Where is said trailcam model available and at what cost. I want something for the lake, I know our "kitty cat" (Lynx) is still around but we never did see it this summer.
  21. I will be targetting keeping the family happy for a Thanksgiving get together.... ...brownie points you know, so I can go Muskie fishing every day there after...
  22. Dan was looking for a dishwasher... they sell those too! lol
  23. It won't improve top speed at all... 4.5 to 5 mph is "Hull speed" for the boat. If the motor doesn't have the power to put it on plane.. that is the best it's going to do.
  24. As mentioned above Emil... If it's a relatively stress free area blind "float" rivets (sealed mandrel end) are the quick and easy solution. I'm just in the door after 3+ months... not sure what I have in stock but will check when I get my head wrapped around reality!
  25. "Chicken"... "what ya all mean ya have no chicken"... "you just out of chicken or do you not have any chicken?" Blackened... my specialty... but having a real problem duplicating that wonderful meal on the new BBQ !! lol I don't even know where my camera is... but I'll get around to adding to your thread Joey! Oh... BTW Paul, we were out fishing on the 30th and snagged a Laker in the side of the head... he couldn't bite the hook as he had no LIPS !
