  1. That's fine and dandy until your Generator developes a "dirty" neutral and starts back feeding thru that and ground. If you aren't using a proper certifed generator isolate system, the only safe way to do it is direct to what you want to run and why I told Tom to use a socket and cord system. That said.. I can be found guilty of doing what you are showing Billy Bob to get my mother back on line during the ice storm of 1998. End of a dead end farm road... and the closest hydro crew , that I found along the way, was advised of the situation as I worked my way in the back roads at 4am. It kept her freezer and furnace running for 16 days on 100LL... and hydro came to see her, to shut off the generator, before starting to work on her road.
  2. Sorry to hear that Nick and best wished to the family.
  3. My dearly departed sister introduced me to Prine in 1982. "In the round" at Ontario Place. First time she met my wife (to be) as well. Leah went down there on her own.. and a wonderful story she told at Wendy's funeral... of first impressions and how she only had a jar of pennies to roll, lugged a heavy purse on the TTC and was paying for everything 50 cents at a time until I arrived direct from work in Milton that night. LOL Haven't seen John since.... but when the mood fits it's quick to hit the turntable or player. "Woke up this morning" was on my brothers car radio when he pulled over to take my phone call in the UK the day Wendy was found dead.... just too coincidental !
  4. Yes.. that would be a safe way to do it. Be sure to put a FEMALE end on the panel outlet wire, as well as the generator cord, and a male twist lock on the feed to the pump control to plug them into. That way you never / ever have a live prong in your hand!
  5. I still play with it live.. I just have a little more respect and SOMETIMES less sparks! I picture of me when younger... lol
  6. It took me awhile to appreciate it Bill.. it's (almost) killed me twice! 6oo three phase in highschool and 3600 in a workplace. Why everyone should know CPR!
  7. Yah.. it's 220 Tom. If you aren't sure what you're doing... stop now! If you are going to proceed.. best way is to pull the two wires off the CB and the ground for that circuit. Connect your generator directly to those wires. Will avoid back feeding the main line and possibly killing a hydro one worker that thinks the line is dead during an outage. Your 220 fed back thru the transformer = 2200 in the pole line!
  8. No.. truth be told I never fished Glamour either. Wasn't in the cards when left at Gramma's every summer! We shot stuff with guns instead.. lol
  9. Definitely... many hours spent playing in that marsh as a kid!
  10. No.. If it had fit the plans, I would have taken over the family homestead on Glamour Lake years ago. Uncle died this summer.. guess my cousins will be getting the West shore now...
  11. "Friend from Gooderham"... you admit that in the open?? LOL (don't worry, my Mother was one of the originals!)
  12. Seriously.. come sit on my dock in May/June.. you tell all the PPark visitors to go fish somewhere else "nothing but bass under them docks"! We also have two SMBass tourneys on the lake each season... they didn't like me handing them back their baits (that I plucked off my dock) at the offical weight in this year!
  13. Seriously guys.. do you think the "growing season" is longer North of New Liskerd?? We can't fish Smallies year long on Temagami.. but I sure wish we could and that they tasted better. In the 9 seasons now... that I've been on the lake.. they've gone from an incidental catch to being absolute pests!
  14. Looks like Kemper got what he wanted.. 7 pages of dribble. Way too early for this lads!
  15. Why not just open them all year long, like they are in the North?
  16. Hmmm Beaver never gets old! Looked like a GREAT trip!!
  17. Was just gonna post similar Phil... we get numerous Beagles running thru the property and all have been recoved by just leaving their blanket on the side of the road... well accept one that I netted off the pool cover!
  18. From shore... definitely! Migrating like a Brown.. doubtful. Lakers find shallow gravel beds in the lakes to spawn on in Oct/Novemeber.
  19. Yah.. you don't wanna mess with my gals!! Either of them.. I could say take another 1/4" off the left side of that nose hole and bang.. it was gone. Great way to vent some frustation.. killing something that was already dead! Joey.. where's the pumpking Paul carved??
  20. Entry... as for exit.. we were using hollow points. No need to scoop goo or seeds out of these ones!!
  21. Does look like most dealers on our side of the border are looking for about 26 grand MSRP. Guess the Kbec police shop state side...
  22. Maybe a government agency was given a discount!! Edited... to say, just googled and depending model number extension.. $17,800 to $20,000.
  23. Huron's been seeing 22' swells all day.. and will grow tonight. 11 to 12'rs are rolling THROUGH the GBay Sound right now.. Leah's father got a new dock around the supper hour. Not sure how far up the lake it came from!
