I ended up at the conservation area in Elora. I usually fish there bellow the mill, havent tried Fergus yet.

Here are some scenery shots from this weekend. Decided to go down to Dunnville to try my luck for some cats and some carp but the wind was blowing really hard, it looked something like this The highlight of the day was bbq we started and grilled some meat. Did manage to catch one bullhead but didnt take a picture of it, too emberassed lol After Dunnville, decided to check out elora gorge, i was determined to catch a fish that day. After all rain river was really high but wasnt muddy at all. Usually river in these spots is half as wide and has some really nice pools where trout like to hide, but wasnt meant to be this weekend. These last 3 pics are above the mill, first time being there really kool place, saw couple of fish jump but no takers. Second last pic is in St jacobs, last year there were couple of nice browns caught there and there is some bass there but thats gonna have to wait for couple of more weeks. The very last picture is me in a bumper cart. There was a fare close to home and its funny what guys will do for girls, here is a proof. Hope you guys enjoy the pics

Do you guys know where is the best place to park if you want to fish in the canal. There is a park there thats called Kay drage park, looks like i could park there and walk to the canal. Also on couple of websites it says that i can park all along York blvd and just go down one of the trails and fish. any info is appriciated, ty

You guys say it might be packed, since a lot of people fish carp there. Do carp move in large numbers or you`ll see couple caught every day. Never fished there so i have no idea what to expect.

This comming saturday pike opens here so i am going to spend the day pike fishing. Sunday i could come. Next weekend i am free i think, and the long weekend after that i am off to Ottawa so no good then. I have a little portable charcoal bbq that can be used if you guys want to bbq.

Went to Elora last night, water is clear but really high and fast. Best to give it a week or so.

If i were you and just looking to get into some fish I would start sight fishing. Walk along the river or a shore on the lake somewhere and look for fish. You should be able to spot panfish and probably some carp. Or look for fish jumping, and start casting in that direction.

lol I think all of us pirated software at some point in our lives. If you actually go out and buy software it gets really expensive, even the simplest programs. I used that X to dvd program as well, very easy and straight forward to use. Now i have a dvd player that plays divx files and no need for me to convert files anymore.

Nice looking fish I think you are the guy who sold me and my buddy some bait 2 weeks ago at fishmasters store. Hopefully you found a box with your fishing licences lol How is all this rain going to affect fishing down there this weekend? Hopefully grand wont be all blown out.

Havent seen any reports in last week or so. Is that because trout is open now and nobody bother fishing for them anymore, or they stopped biting. I plan on going this weekend, we`ll see how it turns out.

Thank you guys I apologize if i sound like a dumba** but there is so much info out there and if you read 10 articles, all 10 will be different lol and tell you to do different thing. I came across something called Tapered leader, would that substitute parts 3-4 and 4-5 on that picture that i attached?? Is it possible to tie this tapered leader straight to your fly line and fish like that?

Hey guys, just starting fly fishing this year and i was curious as how to set up my rod and my line properly so i can go and try out fly fishing. Had some free time at work and i found this pic. It says its a standard set up, i am just wondering if this is the way it should be done or are there simpler ways.

One thing that i didnt understand is where did , people that say linning is illegal and using marshmallows is illegal, get their facts from. I see people "linning" fish using all kinds of weird baits, starting with cigarete buts and yes marshmallow as well. Never seen one of them get in trouble for it or because of it.

I think i am heading out saturday and sunday. Saturday look for some trout and sunday might head down to Dunnville for a second try to hook into some of those cats and maybe even some carp. Good luck out there and be safe

If you enjoy fly fishing you can try elora gorge, there is some nice browns swimming in there. You can also try Credit or Humber river, they are not as far from Kitchener as some other places. I`ve never fished neither one of those rivers for trout so i cant really help you with specific areas. Sorry
