Great fish man!! how heavy was your sinker when fished whirlpool, its absolutely beautiful.

Thought about comming your way on the weekend and what do you know its raining friday morning. It rained all night and all of the morning so river fishing is probably out of question this weekend. How bad is it down your way?? Have u tried fishing for smallmouths using worms when its muddy?? Just wondering if that would work.

yea its not my favorite either, I figured as much that you probably need to look for holes and fish will be sitting there. Kinda same with Grand River

WHere i fished there was a bridge, not that familiar with the area as i dont fish it often. I stood on the bridge for good 10 minutes hoping to see at least a sucker swim by and nothing lol. Lot of minnows swimming around so thats a good sign. Maybe fish are sitting in deeper holes

I went fishing at speed river twice this year, didn't even see a fish follow my lure. My friend, who fished speed a lot more was wondering where all the fish have gone. He said he has never had a day where he, at least, didn't see a fish.

This is the first that i am hearing of it. Its awful to have this happen, i still don't believe that the first die off was an accident. I`ll bet my right hand someone or some institution was behind it but just covered it up with some lame excuse. I hope its not happening for the second time.

Try looking up some trout farms around Ottawa, they should be easily accessible. Sorry i cant help out any more. Not even sure if there are trout in Ottawa River

Belwood has some decent pike and trout fishing is prety good downstream from the dam all the way to Elora.

Thank you guys for your replies, placed couple of bids on ebay for couple Berkly Frenzy poppers with feathered trebbles. checked out prices on HeddonZara spook baites, quite pricey. I hope it doesnt rain too much John. Murky water cant be that good for top water lures. Let me know whats going on later in the week sometimes.

Hey guys, novice bass fisherman here. Heard some guys at work today how much fun it is to fish on top water bait, i am just wondering what are some of the better top water bait for bass. Never fished this way for bass, but seen it done on tv. It looked like they would cast as far as they could and then reel the lure in as fast as possible, looked like more work then fun. I am prety sure thats how they cover water fast and find fish. Any pointers would be appricated Ty for your time

Red devil is probably one of the best spoons ever made. It catches everything that swims, i have about half of dozen of them in my tackle box all different sizes

You would think that canadian government would lay off of some of the taxes on gas nowdays especially when people are struggling like now. I dont understand how they can just sit there and take their cut, which is about 33% ( tax cut according to a pie chart that u see on pumps ) and watch people spend their groceries money on gas so they can make it to work and back. I dont want to be in a position where i have to spend my bread money on a gas pump so i can go to work and make another 100 dollars so i can feed myself, I think we are better then that. Average joes always get it the worst. Not much of a wine drinker so tax on wine does not bug me haha

This is like selling potatoes to statesfor 50 cents and then buying a bag of chips from same people for 2 dollars. Just does not make sense. I am suprised nobody is doing anything about it. In Europe all kind of trouble gas prices have started and people are protesting, some countries even blocked their border crossings. Here, you can hear people complaining in tim hortons and get togethers, thats about it.

I was thinking medium action rod with a light spinning reel and bottom bouncing the worm. Its a good chance i`ll head down your way on the long weekend one day if you are still up for some bass fishing. You can use your fly rod i`ll just stay 30 feet away haha
