Last year on trout opener a CO standing on the other side of the stream let me text a pic of my licence to him so he could verify. Also had to cast my bait across the water to him so he could make sure I was fishing barbless.

Who's starting to get excited for ice fishing season? I know the itch has started for me.

I have ordered a few things from them. You get what you pay for. Don't expect good quality stuff and be patient as the orders usually take weeks to arrive. Also make sure you look at the shipping costs. Some times the shipping cost will exceed the cost of the product on small items.

Perch eyes are fine to use as long as you are harvesting the perch it came from. I tip my perch baits with eyes in the winter.

What was the water temp?

I fished Gbay last weekend. Way south of moon river though. Water was only 46F and about a foot higher than normal. The fish were so lethargic that I couldnt even get a sniff. Going back out tomorrow. Hopefully the water has warmed up a bit.

I have a few baitcasters that i use regularly. I've just never considered using them for this technique. I love my Shimano Compre baitcasting rod but mainly use it for throwing swimbaits and spinners.

So you think I should be tossing weightless senkos with a casting setup? I've never actually done this. I've always just been more comfortable tossing them with a spinning setup.

Sorry I guess u should have mentioned a budget. Anything up to about $200 I would say is my budget.

So I'm looking at picking up a new spinning rod for this season. I"m looking for a rod that will be good for flipping weightless Senkos and jigs for bass. It also has to have the back bone to be able to get fish out of thick cover quickly. I usually fish a lot of Lilly pads. I'm thinking something medium heavy with a fast tip would probably do the job. Does anyone have any recommendations on what rod I should get? Thanks guys.

A leg of lamb was in order at my house yesterday. Sous vide for 30 hours at 132° F. Best lamb I've ever had.

Nice Combo. Never cooked mussels on the bbq before. Usually just steam them with wine, shallots and garlic.
