  1. the tite lok thingies are ok for mounting the transducer however i've been shown a cheaper and better alternative. styrofoam with the tducer cable fed through the middle of it.. now you have a float for you transducer.
  2. Nice list of speakers.. not sure if I'll make it but it'd be nice to see Mr. Pink Hat and Mr. Saric speak again. You guys need to talk Dick Pearson into coming as well - really enjoyed his talk at the Muskie Oddyssey a couple of years ago.
  3. indeed!
  4. tb, a rear seat cable and ps pump don't cost 1150 to replace!!
  5. go downeaster or go home is my motto. wouldn't trust plastic.

  9. sounds like you don't want wii fit. you just want the wii console and wii sports (baseball, golf, boxing, bowling, tennis) - great game. hey carp, we're gonna be neighbours as of this wknd.
  10. look at the topography of the land, it will often give you clues as to what's under the water. flat beach, typically maens shallow water out from that beach. steep rock face, the opposite. points, neck downs, islands should be pretty obvious. hopefully you've a graph!
  11. common carp ooops too quick

    Lenses??

personally I would opt for a tripod before such a high zoom lens. I am not sure a monopod, due to the weight of a DSLR + Lens, would do either but I am far from a pro. My experience, and this is with a P&S "super zoom" (36-432mm equivalent) WITH IS is that unless you have good lighting, it is difficult to get a well focused pic at max zoom, using hands only at ISO 100 or less. I don't have the steadiest hands though.
  14. good stuff!! there's a million ways to do it.. i typically make mine 'thai' style. either with coconut milk (green curry) or without. one thing I've learned is using curry paste, not the powder.. mucho better, available at your asian market. instead of soy, i use fish sauce.. soy ain't so good for us boys. add some freshly pounded lemongrass & shallots (if you have a mortar & pestle) too for that authentic taste. yum yum

    PC HELP

avg, ad aware and another called a-squared are three that i use, all free. sometimes one picks up stuff when the others don't. best way to avoid them is to not get them in the first place. avoid the temptation to download fancy toolbars, smileys and add-ins - many contain nasties and degrade system performance, not worth it for some fluff imo. google search bar is probably all one needs really. if something strange pops up on the screen and you jsut want it gone, avoid clicking on "ok" or "cancel" or anything on the screen. either 'x' it closed or better yet, right click on it in your taskbar and close that way. if it's stubborn, learn to use the task manager and close programs that way. the buttons may be disguised as "cancel", "close" or even "no thanks" but the reality may be that it installs junk on your pc. in order to get infected, you often need to 'run' something from the website. clicking on these buttons can permit that something to run on your machine. and switch to firefox.

  17. if you've gone through thick weeds, you may have easily gone through / picked up line too. you just never know, doesn't hurt to check.
  18. i'm sure you'll get a real reply soon but there should be a shop in port severn.. if not, i bet you can get bait in woods, arnolds bays or blackstone harbour at one of the lodges.
  19. they're glorified panfish anyway. bobber and worm! ok, for most of my bass fishn, I basically have two setups. 7' mh baitcaster, curado 201, 50lb Power Pro - go to for spinnerbaits, cranks, topwaters, etc etc also a pike rod. 7' mh spinning, 2000 series daiwa reel, 20lb fireline - soft-plastics, jigs if i fish really heavy cover, I will pull out one of my "light" muskie setups (7', Abu 6501 C3, 65lb PP) finally, if fishn smallies around little to no cover, rivers, rocks, I use a 7' ML spinning w/8lb mono.
  20. it's even biggger when you consider it's connected to cecebe. can't help with fishing tips, last time I was on the lake was some 20 years ago and in the summer. did ok backtrolling for walleye though!
  21. ohh, so you use a different set of tools (provided by the canon driver) than the tools available in PS?
  22. neat.. does photoshop have the ability to edit RAW photos or do you need to process them elsewhere first?
  23. precisely but, it sure sells them!
  24. you are going to want http://navionics.com charts. go to the site and have a look which particular ones work in your model of gps unit. if it can handle the gold maps, the great lakes map should cover you for everything but muskoka and nippissing as I believe the trent-severn is included on the great lakes. either way, have a look at the site. more importantly, to the best of my knowledge with navionics, impossible.
  25. decided to work from home today so that i can watch it. huge moment in history and - i'm glad i was able to see it live.
