no i don't solo but my regular fishn partner does and i've tried it a few times. i prefer the 7000 & 6500 series c3s.

decent enough reel. in terms of muskie fishn, it'll handle small bucktails and topwaters. would not use it for big baits. more of a pike & lightweight muskie reel.

they are great for relatively thin ice or re-opening existing holes. chipping through 14" of ice - not so much.

red does not 'dissapear', it turns monochrome (b&w) red anything, be it hooks, line is meant to separate you from the money in your wallet.

a pic of a rigged cisco (herring) note that some cos believe that to be a perfectly fine rig, while others may deem it illegal. the rig also has a blade and beads that are not in the picture. commercial quick-strike rigs come with two trebles as well, eventhough that in itself does not make them legal. replace a treble with a big single if you are concerned.

quick strike rig, horizontal. if the bait you are using is still frozne, you may need to drive a weight into it (big nail or railway tie). a shiner, smelt is generally too small. try a 10"+ herring or go to your local fish market and pick up some mackerel or something oily, greasy and stinky.

limewire is still a good choice for onesies and twoosies. if you are interested in complete albums look for a torrent site to avoid fakes on limewire, look for a value in the bitrate column when searching for mp3s.
