  1. Yes - survival suit is a must. Too bad my boots didn't float. Only if someone was there to witness it and record it, this certainly would have been a youtube hit. Normally I drive the boat off or push it off but the trailer dropped so fast, I hit the brakes and sprinted out with precision steps such that I was still knee deep running along the trailer frame to the bunks to catch the bow of the boat. Even I was laughing as I was in the process of catching my boat......hard to stop a 19' boat when it wants to go the other direction.
  2. It didn't affect me today. But the self launch of my boat certainly made it a wet start to the day. Still didn't stop 20+ walleye from making it in the boat (and back in the water).
  3. Stoco Lake when you live near St. Clair? I'm an hour from Stoco and would drive to St. Clair before I consider that lake.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I may take a chance next week.
  5. Does anyone drive by that lake on a regular basis? Just curious if the water level is as low now as it was last fall when some dummies decided to damage the artificial dam. As dangerous as it normally is, I don't feel like taking out my lower unit.
  6. All kings from 5 - 11 lbs. Lost a bow on 5 colour and that was the only hit on that.
  7. Salmon are pretty well done. Upstream spawning and many are dead.
  8. I went out for a few hours this afternoon. Started in 240 FOW and trolled south. Best action was in 280 - 300 FOW down 110'. Temp break was at 105'. Ended up 7/9 in just over 2.5 hrs of fishing. I will wait for colder weather for some ski's. Few weeks and I'll be out walleye fishing before I put the boat away on Nov 15. I don't waste my time in the BON.
  9. Undetermined on whether to go out to Pigeon for musky or one last trip on Lake O to catch 2 yr old salmon. Weather looks promising tomorrow so I'm thinking salmon. Anyone having luck with musky so far this fall?
  10. How do you think the battery will crack more in the winter as opposed to any other season? Otherwise these would be cracking in vehicles all the time in -20C weather. I leave them in the boat and plug in the charger a few times a year. I used to bring them indoors many years ago and there is no difference in life expectancy.
  11. I might be able to help out. I'm in Orono and have a heated garage. PM me for info.
