  1. No it's Friday morning, you missed the flight.
  2. Acch! Yer right! He's got a huge cranium, it's like an orange on a toothpick!! Ah, poor wee lad, he'll be cryin' his eyes out tonight if he reads this...ON HIS HUGE PILLOW!!
  3. No flood damage but I was working at the weather office in Mount Hope on Sunday. I officially measured 56mm of rain between 1300-1700Z. By far the largest rainfall in such a short span that I've ever measured. I too was stuck in the traffic trying to get back home to Grimsby....not too thrilled with that.
  4. Forgot to ask, but exactly what are "lemon drops"? Sounds interesting.... Were you perhaps doing funnel shots of this stuff?
  5. Not that it really matters but Bisco is 7 hours tops from Hamilton. There's lots of places closer than Bisco, but how many are on a 26km lake that has but one camp, with walleye fishing that's comparable to a fly in? Also Ray's camp is not on Biscotasing lake. They pick you up in a water taxi, take you to the very end of the lake and your stuff is hauled over to Ramsey lake with a tractor. From there it's a boat ride to the camp. It's as remote as you can get within that driving range. I've been to Ramsey a bunch of times. Never stayed at Ray's camp, always camped. There's a rough boat launch in Cat Bay at the north end of the lake. Good for light aluminum boats only..
  6. Oh great I'm fishing this week with a celebrity. Will your head fit inside the plane?
  7. Great report thanks for taking the time. 2 pike over 40"? Can't complain about that at all! You must have done that trip in the latter part of June. That's pretty much the only time there were 30 degree temps up there. Driving through the night sucks don't it? Betcha you'll never do that again. I did it last July with Cliff when we went to Cochrane and I was a zombie the next day.
  8. My kind of trip! Hope everything goes well for you.
  9. Exactly within your driving range and amazing fishing. http://www.rayscamps.com/
  10. They are. Dollarama in conjunction with Kathy Lee Gifford just opened a huge new lure factory in Bangkok.
  11. Cool trip Cliff, it's always nice to experience different cultures....
  12. Very nice fish! Like the canoe as well it looks familiar....
  13. Great story thanks for posting. I think we've all had to deal with turbulent weather this summer so I can definitely relate. It's a fantastic area, just being out there is worth the trip.
  14. Would love to hear about it myself, especially Napken lake. We flew into Wanzatika many moons ago and it was okay. Napenk's a lot further flight and a whole other realm of cost. It'd be nice to know if it's worth it. Cheers
  15. Seems you found the info you were looking for. Search button is your friend....
  16. You're definitely going to want to choose an outpost camp imo. This means you've got the entire lake to yourself, bring your own food and do your own cooking. It'll be the cheapest way to do your first fly in and imo offers the best experience. You'll have to drive further than 6 hours from Hamilton though bud. There's probably slightly better fishing available if you're willing to drive to at least Nakina. There's a slew of great outfitters in Nakina that I've used and all offer superior fishing and camps. However the following outfitters are all excellent as well (I've flown with them all) and are an easier drive from the Hamilton area (where I'm from). http://www.air-ivanhoe.com/ out of Folyet. http://www.hawkair.com/ and http://www.ontariowilderness.com/ out of Hawk Junction east of Wawa. http://northtoadventure.ca/view.php?lodge=...ge=wwa_outposts out of White River I've also flown with these guys out of Cochrane: http://www.aircochrane.com/ Cochrane is an even easier drive straight up hwy 11. We have flown out of Cochrane on a few occasions because of the easy drive and quality of fishing (which is very good). However if I had to choose I'd pick one of the first 4 outfitters mentioned. North of Cochrane you're in the James Bay lowlands. The terrain is monotonous and the lakes are all generally featureless shallow dishpans. The 1st 4 outfitter's lakes are still on the shield. The lakes are deeper and more varied and the terrain is more interesting.
  17. August 1st works for me, preferably north of Chapleau.
  18. How did I know you were going to chime in with that? Honestly dude I think most people that read the various boards get it by now. Same exact message posted literally countless times. Are you sure you're not getting any kind of kickback from AWO? Seriously give it a rest.
  19. My group is leaving this week for a 5 night trip out of Chapleau. Cost per person is $620 Can. tax in. Pretty reasonable if you ask me.
  20. Fantastic Mike looks like a perfect spot, and your wife is very talented!
  21. Ben that's amazing, congrat's bud!
  22. There are 3 series, the SX series is top notch. I'm personally amazed that more people aren't talking about them.
  23. Dude that is fantastic!! (BTW put a full beard on your father in law and he could pass as your brother LOL!)
  24. I love Stradics, I've got a bunch and use them all the time. But if you're looking for a reel with similar carbon fiber components, plus the largest spool in the market (means longer casts). Take a look at these reels. They're cheaper than the Stradics and imo better: http://www.usreel.com/products/SXseries.aspx
