  1. Yes If it was strictly for me a tiller would be a no brainer. Not at the price I want to pay. Already saw them. Well as mentioned in my original post I'm now hoping to expand my search to boats that are as similiar as possible to the Holiday DLX WS. My needs are a moot point, but okay. I want a smaller aluminum bowrider type boat, max horse of 60. Full windshield with the ability to add a cover for nasty weather. Main uses will be to transport fragile womenfolk to my water access camp in QC and occasionally trailer it over to Nipigon to fish and camp. I don't need a humongous beast of a boat. Small, light, easy to tow, good on gas and protection from the elements. Those are my needs. Thanks for the responses guys.
  2. This specific Princecraft is the one I've been looking for with no luck. I'm trying to find a good used boat but they're not out there. It's a smaller boat, 16' and change with a max horsepower of 60. Full windshield with an accompanying cover to protect from the elements is a must. Seeing as how I can't find exactly what I want, can you guys offer up any suggestions that are similar? Here's a link to the boat I want: http://www.princecraft.com/aluminum-boat/products/Fishing-Boats/2011/DLX-Series/Holiday-DLX-WS/specifications.aspx Thanks guys.
  3. Hey nice looking sweater in pic #5. Angora?
  4. Incredible, monsters for sure. I'm guessing with this warm indian summer we're having right now this next few days will be on fire too.
  5. Doesn't get much better than that, wow!
  6. C'mon guys, there's no way this guy is for real.
  7. Chris c'mon man, let's see some pictures! Sounds like a great trip.
  8. Tough to fish a lake that size with 9.9's, although knowing Howard he'd oblige if asked for a larger one.
  9. Definitely 2 sizes larger. You need waders with stocking feet large enough to accomodate a THICK pair of wool socks and not be too tight. In turn you need wading boots large enough to accomodate the waders without being too tight. If the boots are too tight your feet will freeze in cold water. Unless all you do is fish in warm weather no way no how will boots one size larger cut it.
  10. For those that have been there who has the better boats/motors cached on Esnagami, Howard or Pennock's?
  11. Been up in Nakina the last week and missed this. Very glad your trip went well Julian, great recap!
  12. We stayed in a lagoon room at Melia Caya Coca. When we were there there were TONS of fish in the lagoon, some quite large. It'd be well worth fishing imo. When you hit the beach to your left is a very obvious rock point. I managed a few cudas and small jacks off that point. As has been mentioned the ability to move around is key if you really want to fish seriously. Either a moped or a car would be very helpful. When we were there it was 90% relax mode with my better half, so fishing wasn't paramount. On a side note that resort had the best coffee I've ever tasted. Bring lots of US dollars in small denominations.
  13. Unbelievable! No wonder you want to go back next year for two weeks!
  14. What a beautiful destination! Glad to see you were able to get away with your boy.
  15. What a great heartfelt story. Thanks buddy.
  16. I'm amazed that rig does 40km's an hour, wow. Yukons are great little boats, that's a heck of a nice little rig you've got there bud. Looking forward to fishing in it.
  17. Congrat's on the new house, that's big. You're girl is a beauty.
  18. Another uninformed opinion from Billy Boob. For what it's worth my stuff was all priced at a MINIMUM of 50% off, some items a lot more than that, and are either brand new or in as new condition. You think that's not good enough to post a firm price on an internet board where I'm fairly well known? If I had wanted to post something on Kijiji at a higher price and ask for best offer I would have. My intentions here were twofold: sell my stuff quickly and give a fellow board member a deal. It was frustrating last night when I was snowed under by low offers. In any case half the stuff has now sold since yesterday for my more than fair asking price.
  19. Try and get some 4-5" chub or sucker minnows enroute. They'll definitely pay dividends with larger fish at the very least. (You'd need a stinger hook for sure) Banner year for me. Leaving on my 4th trip Tuesday early am. Nakina here I come.
  20. I think you and a lot of others aren't getting it, or didn't read my post. In less than a 24 hour period I had 17 lowball offers to my firm prices. 17. Wiser buddy thank's for actually getting it. On another note, how about them Leafs?
  21. Have a great trip bud. Caribou is a very deep, clear lake. If it's post turnover fish deeper than you normally would. I'm not usually a proponent of live minnows (most times it's not necessary), but big minnows on a simple live bait rig or a jighead work wonders this time of year. They've saved my bacon more than once after the lake turns over.
  22. My favourite part of the French, you'll love it! Ask the guys at the lodge if they'll take you down the western channel, through the rapids to what they call the Bad River. You can do it yourself if you know where and what you're doing. As a first timer it's a bit risky, but it'd be a shame if you were right there and didn't get to experience it. GREAT fishing and scenery down there.
  23. I negotiate all the time myself, who doesn't? There's a difference here. Thanks for the fantastic input Bob, great stuff.
