  1. Except zombies die once you remove the head or destroy the brain! Maybe the movies have it all wrong...Great now I need to rethink my zombie plan!
  2. topped up at 96 something at 6am today. Didn't want to deal with the insane lineups I saw later.
  3. nice report that boat looks vaguely familiar...
  4. Weird... the family is up there right now and didn't feel a thing!
  5. didn't feel it in mississauga but then i've got a movie blaring
  6. That's too bad. I enjoyed the episodes on catfish and carp...
  7. They are the same order, different family. SMB and LMB are same genus but different species. So the bass are much more closely related to each other than they are to cichlids. Sunfish are a family that include the bass. I'm assuming that wikipedia is more or less accurate on this topic...
  8. close... cichlid. I didn't know the answer so I googled it. Interesting read.
  9. you asked for opinions after you ordered them?
  10. I thought the sufix was garbage! 30# was thicker than #50 fireline and very stiff. I like powerpro now a lot better than when it first came out. If you are looking for a supple line try the camo braid! I also like the alternating colours as it makes it easy to spot if a fish it taking line if I have wandered away from my setup while carping.
  11. I like my daiwa strikeforce. Cheap but very smooth.
  12. Got back down to the lakeshore for another couple hours this morning. Went 1 for 2 again with one break off. The one I landed though was pretty nice, I think 33.5" length by 25" girth. I figure it weighed somewhere around 25 lbs? Wish I had put something in the frame to give it a sense of scale... I caught one slightly longer last year but this fish is WAY thicker, so I'm calling it my new PB carp! Looking forward to getting out again in a week or two. Mike
  13. I used a bissel carpet cleaner that worked great. Its not a steam cleaner per se but rather uses hot water and a "green" cleaning solution.
  14. Question for the more experienced carp anglers out there. Anyone know of a reasonably accurate formulae for figuring out the weight of carp using the weight and girth measurements? I've found some online but they vary pretty wildly in their guesstimates. Thanks
  15. Went out to the mississauga lakeshore today for a couple hours to try and beat the rain. Fished two hours exactly and went 1/2. Both fish hooked on an inline bolt rig with a combo of 1 kernel floating gulp corn, and two kernels regular canned corn on the hair. So this was my first carp actually landed using anything other than corn on a hook under a float. Starting to gain some confidence in using more refined rigs. Fish was 28", not huge by any means but it's a start. Swam away strong after a quick picture. Lots of massive fish active in the area, but I guess they are waiting for me to go back and get them another day. Take care!
  16. I spent some time this week throwing musky baits on a kawartha lake this week. Not a single follow that I saw. As soon as I switched to a walleye crank to give my arms a rest I get a follow from a decent sized one. No bites though.
