  1. I thought the original post was the dumbest crap I ever read, and then I read fishNwire's response...
  2. I'm in a Matrix XR and like it fine...looking at an FJ though.
  3. provincial election day!

  4. No joke, I rocked that bottom combo for probably 15 years. Caught everything from carp to muskie(incidental) on it. The reel gave in two summers ago and I just retired the rod as the reel seat was stripped.
  5. Of course he's fine! He had his orange vest on, what was the worst thing that could have happened?
  6. I've only caught 1 episode. 2/3 guys in a boat got shot (ricochet) by the third guy in the boat. Then they said "we done been lucky today". Or at least what that's what the subtitles said.
  7. I will vouch for judo. It is good for self defence and an olympic sport. It's nice to be able to end a physical situation without throwing a strike...generally people will back down once they get tossed once. If you do research ontario has some very well run, legitimate dojo's. I don't see how you could go wrong with greco wrestling either. I haven't done it since I was 18, but the basics are still there...kinda like riding a bike. That being said i have a groupon around here for muay thai classes that I should use soon...that might be fun as well.
  8. Tried some last night. Didn't think they lived up to the hype
  9. STOP NAMING SPECIFIC SPOTS!!!! Mods, c'mon!
  10. Further to that, it seems like river names are more heavily protected than lakes. Pretty inconsistent if you ask me. A guy on here last week gave up a real specific area on my home lake and I didn't see anything done about that, but you mention a river and you are jumped on. For the record I went jogging by the credit today and some idiot had flossed himself a real nice 2 person rowing scull. Idiot.
  11. I saw an 8' zodiac with about a 3.5 on the back of it out today...
  12. Duly noted. Next time I am looking for a setup I will keep them in mind. Glad this stayed civil...I was second guessing what I wrote during my run. Thought I may have kicked a hornets nest.
  13. No offense, and I normally don't mind supporting the little guy... But my dilemma was a lack of selection of shimano spinning rods. etackle has a total of 9 rods to choose from. I will leave it at that. I DO hope they do well and become a viable alternative for the canadian market...we are in sore need of a good mail/ web outfit.
  14. yes. put a few wraps of mono around the reel spool first then join it with your braid as you spool it up.
  15. I think I should try chucking some spoons this year... I did hear though that the credit isn't expecting much of a run at all, so all the lurkers should head east or west of there and they should do fine.
  16. I was NOT impressed by BPS's selection today. Don't seem to carry many shimano spinning rods this time of year. Went elsewhere and got a 6'6" med scimitar to replace and old old old shimano fxsomething for $20 and change. Also picked up a 7' convergence muskie rod for $69.xx plus tax. I've decided I shouldn't have nice things, especially rods. I am clumsy. So these rods will work for the right price.
  17. Pass Go get a brand new sienna/ sojourn combo for $53 at LB's I'm even going to Bass pro today, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a deal.
  18. Is it the beers I've had this aft, or do the guides on the casting rod not line up? Nice setups anyway Edit: now that I read the description it seems like it is done on purpose...curious as to why?
  19. I just lost my wife 3 weeks ago, and can tell you that if someone had taken a photo of her and posted it anywhere there would be serious consequences. My condolences on your loss...
  20. Hi Guys and Gals A friend of mine has a cottage on Prudish Lake near Silent Lake PP (hwy 28 north of Chandos Lake). This weekend they have started catching these fish out of the blue. Never caught them before, never seen them in the lake before.... They figure it is a creek chub or a common dace....basically some variety of minnow. Does anyone on here know for sure? Also would this be a species that occurs naturally in that area or would this have been dumped overboard by an uneducated esox angler? Odd that they have NEVER caught them before and now they have caught multiple in the past week. Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer. Bosh
  21. Recipe for a soaked angler. Take one part small dock, combine with a 1/2 cup of tackle box laying at feet. Slowly add a dash of PB fish on the line and wait... Nice fish but be safe!
