  1. Probably shouldn't put their company name on their truck. Blue pickup on the southbound 427 at 12:40 today. Aggressively weaving in and out of traffic, not signalling a darn thing. And it was a "custom bait" company vehicle. Way to go buddy! Making us all look good!
  2. I wonder why its only cabelas that has them at this price...
  3. Thanks for the opinions. I took the plunge. I know how I fish (unsuccessfully most of the time) and I think it will suit my style. This will be my first reel at a higher price point so I am looking forward to trying it out.
  4. Thanks for the input. Can't pass up a good deal so I'll buy it and figure out what to do with it after.
  5. undecided...st.croix triumph in a mh maybe...
  6. I am going to be switching my focus to primarily targeting muskie in the fall. I don't throw anything heavier than a top raider really.
  7. I'm currently using an abu C3 with 80# braid. I like the brand and am looking to build another combo for the fall.
  8. Really? Most places I've seen it have it listed as a big fish reel, sort of like the larger size curado... I typically wouldn't be throwing anything heavier than 3 oz if that helps. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Abu-Garcia-Revo-Toro-Winch-Casting-Reel-Left-Hand/1248515.uts?WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat105591780%3Bcat105740280%3Bcat105742980
  9. To further the post the price is $170 can plus whatever duties I get dinged with from ordering from the states.
  10. my $0.02 I got a bb bold 9700 and found that its alright. I wanted something with buttons to press as I wasn't sold on the touch screen idea. Now I've spilled a coffee onto/ and into the keys so my "p" and red power buttons don't work. I also find it annoying that BB App world is constantly hounding you to upgrade things. Drops a lot of calls as well. I know people with iphones and they seem to really enjoy them.
  11. Anyone use this? Any thoughts. Found a place that has them for a decent price right now.
  12. Thanks for the input. The braid I've got on my reels should last bit, but good to see some honest opinions on here.
  13. I Saw that as well as I was out on the lake not catching bass. Glad someone got good shots of it. I only had my old point and shoot, so I got nothing worthwhile.
  14. I find the paint on colours such as "hot steel" chip, but other than that no problems.
  15. Went carping at a local creek mouth today and hooked into a decent sized fish. I was having some problems getting him in the net with the other hand still on the rod until a helpful angler from down the way came over and assisted. If it's anyone from on here, I thank you kindly. A pretty clean 33"x24"...still need a scale.
  16. Seems like every time you post a report, someone is taking a piece off you... FGlad you knew the regs, even if you weren't exactly sure what the species was. Nice fish btw!
  17. Snuck out for a bit this aft once the sun came up for some carp. Tried a local creek but the flow was washing a lot of junk downstream with the rain and fouling my line. Picked up and moved to my regular spot. Within 20 mins I noticed my line go totally slack (for once I was paying attention and not just listening for my baitclicker). I reeled in until I felt some weight and then the fish took off. At first I thought it was a little guy and then he turned into a rock and I could barely gain any line. I made sure not to horse it and finally got it in the net after three tries (hence I need a bigger net). It was my longest carp to date but not as fat as my previous pb from a couple weeks ago. Hard to tell which one weighed more. 37" x 24.5" I once again regret not having a scale but was holding off on the purchase until I get the inevitable bass pro gift cards for my birthday. Figured it wasn't going to get any better than that, so decided to pack it in on a high note. Was fishing an inline bolt rig with a piece of tutti fruity monster maize. I figured the upsized bait (from regular corn) would be more visible in the murky post-rain water.
  18. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Lil-Hustler-Muskie-Swim-Jig/703383.uts?WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products Dressed. I assume a trailer is still needed for bulk and action? Sorry, I've never used swim jigs before, and I'm also new to targetting Muskie.
  19. Just ordered a bunch of stuff online and didn't really think through what I would be using as a trailer. Any suggestions? It is a 1oz swim jig in black (8/0 hook size), and will be used in the kawarthas. Thanks in advance for any input.
  20. What a great economical weighing sling! Perfect! Thanks for the report.
  21. Thanks. I find the 2-1 rig helps to make it easier for the fish to pick up without really popping it up off bottom. Oh btw it leaks everywhere like every other gulp alive product. Ziploc bag is a must.
