Well, I've been trying my usual spot for a couple weeks now. I've had a couple soft takes but lost the fish both times. Today I went from 8-10am after a night shift. 5 takes, 2 well hooked fish on and one landed. 35.75" x 26" - My personal best. Not 100% on weight but I use an online calculator to estimate- just shy of 30# supposedly. And after having to lift it out of the water I believe it! It might be a bit of a heavy guess but it was definitely over 25. Really need to invest in a scale and sling as was previously suggested in a different carp post. Switched from a method feeder to an inline bolt rig with 2 kernels of corn and one floating gulp corn on the hair for this outing. I could see some carp feeding in the shallows...very slowly and very deliberately. Might explain why I had so many short light takes. Friday the 13th rocks!

Were the two fights the ones that happened right as the event ended in the 100's? That was right below us in 239. I couldn't believe how long security and the cops took to get there. I'm glad I stayed sober as people were pretty chirpy and pushy after the event.

quick report from the event. It is really weird to not have the commentary like on t.v. Holyyyy crap the speakers are loud in there....and a much quieter crowd than I thought. Meatheads + booze is a bad mix. Never seen a fight in a first aid lineup before... The girls there thought it was HILARIOUS to see the boys lineup for the washroom like they usually have to. Fight of the night was Hominick and Aldo for sure. Sad to see Randy go down in his retirement fight, but the noise in there was deafening when he was being interviewed. Standing O all the way.

I could only find mine online. Be aware it is a lighter lure than what you might be used to throwing for musky. Haven't caught anything on mine yet but a regular one is one of my favourite bass baits.

The banjo weed guards looks suspiciously like the elastics my dentist used to put on my braces to torture me fix my teeth. Weird how soft swimbaits are all the rage now...everything comes back in style!

Thanks for the info! We figured we were pushing it a bit, but didn't want to miss out as we all have the habit of getting too busy to get together.

Yeah we went on april 13th last year and were "too late" I guess this year we were too early. We'll be back when it warms up a bit. At least we had fun playing fetch with fishmasters dog.

Gave it a shot today with a couple buddies. No fish, no bites. Maybe the fish were playing an april fools joke on us, but I'm not laughing.
