  1. i guess "house rules" apply at the lodge but they really aren't the governing body of how and when you fish (though that can be tough when you are in their boat). while opinions might differ you are not exceeding your possession limit as long as you don't 'possess' the fish. the interesting thing about your last comment dara is their request to give them some of your limit of 4, and then suddenly you are good to keep fishing???? it seems like they are only aware of the regs that suit them....
  2. a homeowner is responsible to look after his trees. but this is more of a liability issue than a cosmetic issue. if a dead branch falls off your tree and lands on my car you are responsible because you failed to remove the dead branch and maintain the tree. until/unless it is a property standards issue it is difficult to compel a homeowner to trim both sides of the property, however you have every right to trim someone else's tree that protrudes into your yard. there is also a right of way type issue - to trim in your yard means an access/trespass issue. so i wouldn't say he is looking for free labour, if your tree is overhanging his yard like cedars tend to, and eating up 8 feet past the property line they are your trees to maintain. would you like your neighbours trees to grow all onto your yard, and how would you feel about paying the bill to trim your neighbours trees? cedars are a nightmare - every time i get called to cut 'em its the same thing, no one trims them for 20 years and one day realizes they are 40 feet tall and 20 feet wide and your privacy hedge is now a privacy monstrosity....
  3. thanks for putting the time and effort into finding an actual answer musky mike, as opposed to just telling everyone how you think it is or should be. or what your cousins hairdressers uncle heard from a guy in a bar. you certainly dont seem to be getting rewarded for your efforts....
  4. truck, boat, gas, ramp fees, gear, coffees, lunch, cocktails, bait.... yep 4.99/lb pretty good!
  5. everyone got called on my friends, but no one on my renewal.
  6. there is a section on the application that requires you state the personal info for your spouse/ex if recent. your current spouse signs the application, but i dont know about your ex. i dont beleive they can just veto your application without just cause and some effort on their part. but you can review the appication online and see what it says. you can also do all kinds of research on the website of the chief firearms officer. or just call and ask.
  7. i have an hp laptop been very reliable for over a year now. no experience with the acer, other than liked the hps finish better. i bought at best buy, where they push the hps hard, which is interesting considering their affiliation with FS who are telling you not to buy one...
  8. hospital visits related to wheelbarrows were over 3000 in 2010. hospital visits related to AK's in 2010 - 0. just saying. no real point, as i like shooting them, but dont really have a big concern if im no longer allowed to. there is just no statistical evidence to support they actually cause any harm in this country. of course, without the strict laws against thier ownership there would be more of them and then they would start having an effect on statistics. i have no reason to own an AR 15, but then, i could probably do without my wheelbarrow if i had to.
  9. was the ak47 registered properly? did the owner have a restricted weapons permit? when the ak and the ar15 got restricted (late 90s???) you could still keep them. just had to register them. its almost hard to imagine that in the 1990s you could buy those guns just like any other rifle. in the majority of the worlds countries you can buy an AK in the market between the goat heads and the camel saddles. no big deal. if you recall they became restricted shortly after the marc lepine shooting in montreal. the funny thing is they restricted the AK and the AR15 but left the mini-14 alone, the actual firearm that was used. go figure. anyway, arguing gun rules without whiskey and cigarettes is quite tiring.
  10. GFCI receptacles have a line and a load side, so yes you can run other plugs past (thru) the GFCI. each receptacle past the GFCI will also be ground fault protected. 12/2 is capable of running up to 30 amps. dont run 14/2 to any device running in excess of 20 amps. more like 16 amps @ 80%. dont guess read the plate on the pump motor it will tell you its amperage. its quite likely the pump is 240V which means you cant run another plug off it as it has no nuetral. hope this helps.
  11. hey goteeboy - one of the first posts ive made then i didnt get beat up for...if i can find the part # Ill throw it out there!
  12. ceeripes we all know the laws and have read them and dissected them out the wazoo. they all have to be locked up and the whole idea of firearms for self defense is moot as you cant possibly get at them if they are legally stored. in england they added paintball guns and low powered rifles to 'smoothbores' and thats pretty much the end of paintball in england. a change in the laws as ffa puts out is news to me..as an owner and intructor...not your fault dave!
  13. the rooster tale is a common problem, there are a million complaints in to humminbird about this problem. there is an insert that fills the void in the transducer bracket. go online to humminbird and order one, if you moan enough they are free. or talk to bay distributing in north bay. it is not a mounting issue and there is no reason to fill it with tape or modelling clay or an old piece of carpet. just do a little research the answers are out there!
  14. if we're talking about the little worm gear module on the transfer case that was the culprit on my chevy it was 135$ and about 5 minutes. you can test it with a meter or a 12 volt source.
  15. cerka industries milton if you ever go that way. great prices on brand names. the led lights at pa for 87$ are crazy expensive for PA quality.i guess if they were on sale. bass pro shops price isnt bad i beleive they are optronics which is standard on stratos and ranger boat trailers. dont bother unplugging your lights no matter what you use.
  16. brakes required @ 3000# to add hydraulics change to surge brake coupling, piping kit, new hub assy with brakes from the backing plate out. 2-3 hours work about 400$ electric brakes add new hub assy with brakes and wire 1-2 hours about 200$ no biggy either way, this is of course if you cant order the trailer with brakes. my stratos excursion (glass) weighs about 1900, motor about 300, trailer 600, fuel and batteries 500, gear and accesories another 200, trailer maxed out at about 3500#
  17. make sure to smash into every other boat in the lock while traversing the severn, you wouldn't get the full houseboat' feeling without causing some sideways havoc around other boats...
  18. if the boat fits the trailer properly a swing tongue does little for you. my 18'boat is 24' tip to tail on the trailer and doesn't stand a chance of going in the garage. at over 8 feet wide the angle doesn't do much either, its not like it tucks into the corner. and with the console windshields on its over seven feet tall and wouldn't fit undet the door. i guess in my experience the standard garage just wont take alot of boat. others experienmce may vary. good luck!
  19. rereading your ?? is it about tire pressure or the way ratings work? a 2000 lb axle would need each tire to carry a weight rating of 1000lbs, if that is what you mean. each part should add up to the mazimum load the trailer is rated for.. i always maxed out the tires that went out the door of our shop. they were all marathon radials.
  20. a new 4 stroke isnt going to get much, if any, fuel savings over a new 2 stroke. that may have been true when 4 strokes first came out but a modern 2 stroke is remarkably fuel efficient. same problems with noise and trolling however. the 20 legend wouldn't be a dog with a 115, but might not light the world on fire. i like the idea of the biggest motor you can afford with a kicker....
  21. that is its maximum load capacity, and also the pressure it should be at regardless of load.
  22. north shore marina on longpoint bay was 2 inches thick with slimy algae last week. water is low 60s,its may, and my boatand trailer looks like i salvaged them off the bottom
  23. avoid the things that you associate with smoking. waking up, eating, coffe breaks, working, fishing, playing cards, hanging in the garage, BBQing, a certain group of buddies that smoke their faces off, etc. the more you smoke the more of these habit smokes you have...id try to avoid the situations you find yourself in that it would seem most natural to smoke.
  24. FF makes a good point which i forgot to mention - the great lakes are absent. seems a little weird considering they are quite popular
