  1. Doug I have the 60csx and pretty much the same unit. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the garmins. I'm really impressed with mine.
  2. Nice fish. Thats the toughest thing about living in Peterborough is you have to drive an hour in any direction to get any hardwater fishing in.
  3. Well after the show every year we get the same old complaints about the show but people still go. I don't think that for 12 bucks you can go wrong, what else can you do for that money. It's a great way to get in the mood for spring and fishing. You have all the reps and new products under one roof plus the odd deal along the way. I agree with Rick on the mnr putting there personnel and money to better uses in the field. The cost of having a booth in the show is a waste then then to provide staff with rooms and meals while there would be a waste of needed money now to keep trucks on the road. Also they have hundreds of reps and stores out there selling licences for them so you can get them anywhere now. I'll be back.
  4. I came out only about 100 bucks lighter. Got a nice little soft side tackle box from LB's and 10 more mini power grip releases from Grimsby Tackle then renewed my OFAH membership while there. Other then that had a great day walking and chatting with all the ofner's and tackleshop personalities i've met over the years. They did have a few dealer reps there full of info for some up coming purchases.
  5. I got an e-mail from Don and he and Ruth will be there this aft. as well. He was also thinking that Uncle Buck may be around. See you this aft.
  6. Wow Solo I sure am impressed. You have a great pile of knowledge of the north and the opportunities up there. Your a great addition to the board. Mike
  7. I've always fished out of beaverton and always had good luck there. If renting I use Floyds.
  8. They listed all the shops in the area but to be honest I'm not sure who's selling bait this time of the year. Peterborough live bait might be the best bet as he wholesales to the area and he sells smaller baits also. I would give him a call and if he can't help you out he might be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck
  9. Thanks everyone. Lew tomorrow for sure at opening. Gerritt your recipe is first up and I'll let you know how it goes. Mike
  10. I wish I could help you out with the area but I have never been. It's always been a goal to visit Quetico for an interior trip. I hope you get some info and bring back lots of pics and a great report.
  11. Oh man I bet you can't wait to see spring and your boat again.
  12. The bite that happened just as the sun was setting in the horizon. First fish caught and released about 12 inches then the rest caught within 15 mins and then with a few to take home it was over. All fish caught on a Green Mister Champ tipped with a minnow. I stopped in and got the minnows at Skevy's and he pointed me in the right direction to find the fish. Sorry I didn't even have time to take pics on the ice as I was rushing to pack up before dark and didn't want to bother setting up the coleman lantern so I only got this one at home before cleaning them up.
  13. Enjoy the day at home Rick you probably need a break anyways.
  14. Great pics Cliff. Like was said before you never know what your going to get when pier fishing down there. Makes for an interesting day. Thanks
  15. Your right Tom I did and just been one of those weeks for having time to post. I have another Quinte report to get up and going also. I had to put on a training course this evening for 46 people and now that it's out of the way I can enjoy a bit more time here. Life sure is cruel but mother nature is amzing to see in action. Thanks for getting it up on the board.
  16. Great report, Thanks and congrats.
  17. Lakers and we usually caught them on live minnow rigs on set lines. I lived on the west shore of the lake for a few years and I always fished that side, I never fished anywhere but off my property so I don't know how the bite was anywhere else on the lake.
  18. They look great. Good Luck with them.
  19. Great report Copper looks like a fun time out on the ice. Thanks
  20. Corey maybe your smell is from the borrowed boots. hehe

  22. Great looking fish congrats on a great outing.
