  1. I also don't have any experience in the KW area. But I second going out with one of the many operators on Simcoe.
  2. Find an outfitter or a guide. Than go out with them. Judging by the types of questions you are asking, I have to assume you know very little about fishing, regulations, and ice safety. This time of year, with thin ice, that can be a very dangerous situation. So as Joey mentioned, wait a few weeks. There are a few guides on this board that will take you out. Likely supply all the gear. Maybe even lunch!!
  3. Nice! I never go first ice with out my float suite though...
  4. What are you doing Sunday morning? Wanna light that screen up with Crappies?
  5. Make sure my sled is running good, with an extra tank of gas handy. Pretty much it. Bring it on! I love this stuff.
  6. I counted 9 cars in the ditch between Barrie an Orr lake last week during the storm... I'm going 40. The three people ahead of y have their 4 way flashers on... And there are transport trucks playing NASCAR, passin us going 90....
  7. I'm not a tournament angler, so I really don't have any idea about it all works. To bad that they didn't follow the proper protocols. I'm assuming this sort of thing happens quite a bit. Fish dying due to tournaments that is....
  8. Good job team 5... Hey. Queen! At least we didn't get last!!
  9. I don't believe profiles can be deleted from OFC. I think we're all life'ers! Nice haul by the way. I never got to read your original pre-editted post... But if you posted a name of a lake, for early ice crappies... Your crazy. Sorry man. But that's just the way it is. Some people really don't understand what the internet can do to a lake.

    I want one

I need to get that stitched in to the back of my float suite!
  11. I have not measured ice on six mile yet. But it's was skimmed over in spots last time I drove by. Likely 2' of snow on 3" of ice at best.
  12. I am a big fan of Stanfields. http://www.stanfields.com/men/underwear/performance-rib-long-men.html Cheap. And made in Canada.
  13. Everyone is different. Me... I was raised in Pickle Lake. Mashed pickerel and Pike was much cheaper than baby food! So that's what I got!! For me, as long as I can remember, I was Always trying to catch a meal. If I didn't come home with a fish for dinner, my grandparents would tease me!!! My son is 15 months. He watched me clean crappie last weekend. Then eat some with me after it was cooked.
  14. You make me laugh Moose! My one year old is sleeping in the next room over! Trying to get through that and not wake him was tough...
  15. Sojourn in Barrie is horrible for that.
  16. It's well worth the $5 for sure. Their MEC and house brand bicycle tools and parts work great and are one of the lowest price anywhere. Their running and cycle brand clothing is a great price, and lasts forever. Just the savings you get buying the MEC brand gear alone is worth the $5 on almost every purchase ive made this year. Let alone a once in a lifetime payment.
  17. That's a holiday tradition at my house.! You can make it as strong as you want!
  18. We only found 3" to day. Stayed close to shore. Spud through ever 4 to 5 feet.... Hoping for another inch or two by next weekend.
