  1. It was a "good" year. No PBs' for me, but I got out quite a bit and enjoyed the hot summer we had, and had lots of great times. One of the highlights was catching an eleven pound catfish (square tail, not a channel) off the dock, which hilariously darn near crushed my thumb when I tried to lip it. Aside from the fishing, which was at time challenging, with the really warm weather, and probably not helped by the low water levels, it was all about been outside, and on the water: A rare windless morning early in in May: ...and just before heading in, on my last day of the season: I spent more time learning about the area I fish, and would like to think I refined my technique Time will tell, lol. I hope everyone else had a good season, and if you're the type that enjoys hardwater, that it's a good one for you!
  2. Another vote for the Tru Oil, btw. Yes, water resistant, although not to the same extent as the poly.
  3. My season has just ended, and I've already tuned two of my reels, gonna be a long winternet...

  4. Maybe $18,000 with the trade-in? I've dinged my fair share of props, but only lost one lower unit, many moons ago. Never again, I hope!
  5. One of the guys stayed up Sunday night to clean out the fridges and shut down the cottage for the winter. He's still "trapped" there, although he admitted he got out to Sans Souci for provisions" yesterday, LOL
  6. I'm sorry to hear of loss, Paul. You will always have their memories, and if your experience is like mine, that will become a good place that you visit often.
  7. I have an iphone, and use it for everything. Notes for when on the job that backup to my home pc, decent camera, texting and facetime when I want to talk to my kids, GPS, it has a couple thousand songs on it, and a bunch of other things I use. Not unhappy to have it.
  8. Great work! Do you have plans for the rack?
  9. Storm Shallow Thunder 15 in Green Mackerel (discontinued) Super Spook, Black Shiner Pattern Honorable mention to Rapala X-Rap #10 in Perch

  11. Worth a try, though
  12. I think you should back off the settings of your impact wrench a tad.....
  13. Carlos Santana, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Randolph, all at once
  14. Not to hijack the thread, but the Moon bite has been pretty tight for a month or so. I had four days up there recently, and really had to work for anything I caught: same with my pals, and other people we spoke with over the weekend. It can be a fickle place to fish, for sure.
  15. lol, my oldest son is now 14, and therefore I now have an in-house tech department. As far as the tablet is concerned, my gf has an ipad, and for sure, it's great, but frankly, I haven't tried any others. If Samsung's tablet is as good as their phones, it might be worth at least looking at, though.
  16. awesome dog is right. He's a handsome pup for sure!
  17. If you're going up the 400, Divers Nook in Parry Sound has minnows as well, and is that much closer to your destination.... Oops, just re-read and I see you just need worms. At least you have choices.
  18. Not camping, but I'm getting together with 16 other guys for our annual fishing weekend in Moon River area this weekend.
  19. I'll be right back.....!
  20. I found the warm weather and water to be a challenge, but I ended up learning more about the area that I fish. I have four days this weekend to try to put the work to good use!
  21. They had such a wide variety of music in the store. Like most have mentioned, there were other stores I would shop at as well, but Sam's was for sure the starting point. He mad a great contribution to Toronto.
