  1. That's a good look for you there, b'y. Tunderin' etc.
  2. Good shootin', Tony. Careful out there tomorrow, with warm temps forecast.
  3. Make Google your friend. It's easy 'n' it's fun!
  4. Palomar is THE knot to use when tying braid to an eye or swivel, but you can use a uni knot too. The uni knot is the only knot to use when attaching braid to leader.
  5. I'm not at home, but check back issues of Outdoors Canada or Ontario Out of Doors, since one of those had detailed plans including a cut list and joinery details for a smoker that looks much like Wayne's future son-in law's.
  6. There are a lot of folks interested in that report. Thanks.
  7. Yup, enjoying a little Christmas eve TV and finishing up the wrapping. Merry Christmas to you late nite Santas.
  8. Ya. What was I thinking. Deep 6 the puter.
  9. Joey, she certainly has her mother's beautiful eyes and charming smile.
  10. Hmmm, Mexico Beach Therapy! Atlantic or Pacific? Cancun has some great snorkelling near Cozumel and Isla Muheres. Dos cervezas et dos towellas, por favor.
  11. Wayne, that's just a gorgeous piece of cabinetry. It reminds me of the plans I looked at in either OC or OOD magazine. She seems to be a very capable young lady. Goodonya, you have every right to be proud of her. You don't need to ask her to make one for you. Just have the lucky guy marry her. Easy. Never mind, it looks like that's gonna happen anyway, no stoppin that train.

    Hahah

Great restrospective, Rafal, with lots of quality fish. I especially like the lake trout, but the muskies and walleye are fabulous too.
  13. Bernie, that's exactly what I thought, 500 years before the Egyptians started to make their pyramids, the bloody Irish made a theatre that was lit up once a year by the sun, to celebrate the end of teh darkness. The structure was built out of rocks. That sounds as though they had some time on their hands, plenty o meat and hides, the kids were doing well at school and the retirement fund was coming along nicely. That was a full thousand years before Stonehenge was built, too. That accuracy of planning and design could exist 5000 (FIVE THOUSAND) years ago boggles this here mind. Especially in Ireland. I can say this really slow, one more time, for the Irish.

    MEMART

Something tells me that Memart is now a GRANDFATHER, but still waiting confirmation.
  15. Winter Solstice at Newgrange, Ireland
  16. Garmin 60 and 76 series have the industry's most sensitive receiver. I've got a 76 CSX, so I agree with Dan and Terry on the choice. The topo maps are incredible, showing every street in Canada. They are also unlocked, if you know what I mean.
  17. Many years ago my buddies chipped in and got me a sweater for my birthday. I really wanted a moaner tho.
  18. That was some fine whitefish action there. Nice shootin. Hope the sled repair doesn't pinch too much.
  19. Good Luck, Gerritt. We are all pulling for you. If you fall off that wagon, get back on it. It sounds like you have the right motivation.
  20. Try a bottle or two of Argentinian wine, especially a Malbec blend of Syrah, Cabernet, or Merlot. They might not be equal to an $18 bottle of Australian jam, but very very good at $10 or less. Another tip might be to try Segura Viudas Spanish champange type of bubbly. Some very fine bottles at $15, excellent for the hot tub on New Year's Eve. If you know someone who has space in a hot tube on NYE, I'm just sayin. *pm*
  21. Nice suit, looking WAY festive there. And a Hyvää Joulua ja Onnellista Uutta Vuotta to all the little Uglis.
  22. I cook all the fish at this place, and I usually coat with flour and breadcrumbs and fry in butter/olive oil. Sometimes I will make a sauce with lemon and dill and cover with it after the turn, about 5 minutes before serving. Or, a dollop of mango curry sauce - great on salmon. Mackerel fillets, fried crispy and served with a green tomato chow is fabulous, right near the top of my list.
  23. Beats, ya, that's what burned em, the auger spinning in the hole which lead to the stomp and resulting screw up. It looked like they were still short on the uh length, they had bottomed out before at the beginning of the clip. It was still hilarious - "I told you the manual crank is the way to go".
