  1. The used Pontiac Vibe is the same price as the new crew cab 1500 Ram. Didn't we tell these idiots to stop building those monstrosities 10 years ago? If I had a pension pending from those morons, I'd be mad as hell.
  2. Fine iced laker, Wayne, I always knew you had super powers.
  3. Bigugli, you were humming the wrong song while fishing. Change your tune and the fish will come.
  4. One word, Brian: polyester fleece in layers.
  5. Oh yeah? You wanna talk nostalgia? How about THIS? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9OoPyYGKdI
  6. Great to hear from you and that all is well, Steve.
  7. SEE? A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL WHO RECOMMENDS ACTIVE RELEASE THERAPY!!!!!!! It really does work, honest. Find a provider in your area here.
  8. The last charcoal I used came from China. I couldn't believe it. We are waiting for the final pictures and verdict, btw.
  9. Bernie is getting a little hoarse.
  10. OK, we only had a half dozen folks in chat yesterday. Anyone interested now?
  11. JoAnne, I gots some bad right elbow stuff going on, resulting from resting my arm on the desk whilst I surf teh interwebs. I am trying Plan Buh, will let you know how it all works out.
  12. That Ol' lady has the stuff dialed in. God bless her pointy little ears.
  13. Thanks, 2Heads. Every year, there are always lots of scary reports by the survivors of tragedies, of folks who have improved the human gene pool by removing forever their contribution. poop happens, but please plan as best you can for the worst. Planning for the worst on the water includes having backup power, motors, batteries, clothing, communication, food, fuel. Add ice picks and pfds, cell phones and gps, and common sense. We can all fish extra extra hard next time when faced with thin ice, zero viz, high wind chill, heavy snow, etc. Please, it's a rare event that we lose one of us to the water and weather. I would like to see that losing one of is really just a spooky story, a myth. Stay smart, stay safe, friends.
  14. jwl, that is one huge pink slash of chrome. Gorgeous feesh. Congratulations to you. The feisty laker is a good shot too. Eye Before EE. I don't know why I put up that link, I guess I just like it.
  15. Jax, you gotta check out the Quinte Board. The truth is out there.......
  16. I am starting to develop my round reel arsenal while learning to fish for larger fish like salmon, pike, muskie. A spinning reel does well for me in many situations, but... I like the baitcaster / trolling reel for: flatlining downrigging fishing big baits for pike or muskie, casting or trolling casting heavy lures I still don't see the point behind those low profile baitcasters with tiny spools, like . I like something like this better.
  17. Terry, did you see anyone you know? I should think so.
  18. On the other hand, newer machines are much more efficient - clothes come out of the washer almost dry already, much reduced energy required for the dryer. Or so they say, I am running 15 yr old appliances everywhere except the fridge.
  19. I agree with the long cut and paste - start with two or three layers on your brain bucket, a toque, fleece hood, and the hood from your coat. As your body loses heat through your head, it is your extremities that get cold first, no matter what you are wearing on your feet and hands.
  20. Very nice, Glen, you is makin us a little jealous.
  21. Snag, as far as I can tell, you make up these amazing phrases outa whole cloth. That's some fine work there. Thanks to you, and to your muse too also.
  22. Richard, Richard, Richard. That massive pike was caught in Holland. People from Holland don't say Holland, they say Netherlands. Sorta like saying Czechoslovakia, that place doesn't exist either. And Netherlands is many many miles from Scandinavia, about 2000 Km from Amsterdam to Helsinki. Not real close. If you want the authentic report from Ewout Blom, just click here.
  23. Plenty o evidence of that right there.
