  1. The best fishing memories of 2007 came at Little Vermilion catching big ole pike! These next two were caught less then 5 minutes apart.. The biggest fish of the year... The best catch was this little guy though...
  2. You are now E-famous Joey, Muskoka Outdoors picked up the story too. http://muskokaoutdoors.ca/blog/?p=1019
  3. Nice job Grant! Thanks for being my lure tester! I'll have to get some new lures out to you in time for spring pike!
  4. Solid year! BEst of luck in 08!
  5. Now all I need is a show on WFN. Thats the next step after comercials right?
  6. Iwish I had WFN so I could see it!
  7. I'd let her go after a few pictures.
  8. I used to think that there were not many left hand retrive reels out there -until I did some searching online, almost every model has a left hand equivelant these days usually the name has a 1 or L at the end. for example the right hand model of a Shimano calcutta may be a 250, and the left hand would be 251. Im a right hander and only use left hand retrive now.
  9. I may be heading to the Annapolis Valley tomorrow if the weather is nice, i'll see what i can find out for you!
  10. great photos as usual!
  11. Braided line for sure! I asked the same question a few years back and tested both braid and mono. I was much happier with braid for a couple reasons. The main reason is that you wont stretch you line while untangling unavoidable birds nests. This menas you line will last long and will be in better shape to cast. The second is that i foudn it easier to untangle. With braid you can often pull really hard and get a nest out, with mono you stretch the line again. Another tip, dont fill the reel with line. This often can create more of a mess (although an experiences baitcast user will get great distance with more line, he may loose some accuaracy) I say fill the spool half way and practice. And another thing, why does everyone compare bass fishing to pike fishing??? I dont use anything less then musky gear when I fish for pike.

    Tiger

I dont see why any of these explantions make it a bad thing... maybe that cus I mostly fish muskie and pike. I'm certian I have read that the musky evolve and spawn in deeper water, thus avoiding having their babies eaten by the already hatched pike... ps. awesome fish!
  13. I've been using a Shimano Compre $120) and a Quantum CBC31PTs ($160) for 2 seasons and i'm very haqppy with both so far. You can go wron with a nice Shimano Calcutta either.
  14. The day after I made plans with FishHeadRic to catch some stripers Long island and musky in NJ my business trip got canceled. Now I just found out i'll be heading to Montreal for training before the end of the month. Looks like musky season is open just a little bit longer, so hopefully i'll have a chance to get one! Any of you Monstealers looking for a fishing partner in a couple weeks? I may check out the Mepps factory while im in town!
