  1. Thanks for posting the topic I was going to ask the same question, I am looking at the Simcoe event.
  2. best check with your insurance company.
  3. Sorry to hear about your GPS Joey, Racoons and mice etc. can cause a lot of damage to personal property and that is the exact reason why i take everything out of my boat before it goes into storage. Just a thought but could your insurance company help out?
  4. I always thought Canada Customs looked after this but I just looked at my boat registration and it is a Transport Canada document.
  5. No need to be sorry! your not the first person here and you probably won`t be the last!
  6. That`s what i like to hear turn a Lund into a Alumacraft!!!! Now that`s a step in the right direction.
  7. I would love to invite this person up to Scugog to help thin out the Crappie population.
  8. Good advice from Trapshooter,I don`t know if your staying at a lodge or not but the best way to find out about a particular lake is try and find out what the locals are doing drop by the the local bait shop and buy a bait or two and get some info it may be the best 20 bucks you spend on the trip.
  9. 1 week in BC for the salmon and trout. 1 week in Alaska and 1 week in Yukon for the scenery and fishing and since money is no object throw in a week or 2 to explore the North West Territories Fish a Pro AM event with Mike Iaconelli as the Pro just so i could tell him to shut hell up and maybe push him into the lake.
  10. Well us hicks up here north of the mullet line (just kidding)like smoke, watermelon, black and red.
  11. Honestly I don`t think much of that list obviously the Rapala it will catch anything that swims and the Senko is IMHO the hottest bass bait right now and it flat out catches fish but what about the good ole Hula Popper and Jitterbug 2 of the best Bass lures ever made and someone mention the Bass jig also the tube jig any serious Bass fisherman has a number of the above mentioned baits in his arsenal. Nothing better for a Bass fisherman than having a big Bass smash a Jitterbug in the dark of night.
  12. Who cares and does it really matter, I can`t imagine spending several hours on the phone debating that! LOL I think i will go count my Ra-pa-la`s
  13. Good One!
  14. How about that some young city slicker calling me a hick, i live north of the mullet line and i am proud of it!
  15. I sold my tiller last year and moved into a full windshield rig and love it the tiller was great for Walleye fishing but it was a pain in the arm hollding on to that tiller on long runs and in the spring and fall having that cold wind and the occasional ice cold lake spray hit you in the face at 50 KMH was not a alot of fun as i recall. Full windshield for me!
  16. Now that you have your list of must have`s for your new boat i would suggest it`s time to look for a larger boat to carry all that stuff!!!!
  17. Don`t forget one of them portable battery packs i know most bigger boats nowadays have 2 or 3 batteries and the chance of running all 3 flat are slim but they are handy if your cranking battery needs a little help, Canadian Tire usually has them on sale, a good sharp knife to cut anchor rope you never know when that anchor will jam on the bottom, a first aid kit in case you grab the business end of a Musky and maybe think of a float switch for your bilge pump if it`s not already automatic. Enjoy your new rig I got a new full windshield boat last fall and they are nice on those cold mornings.
  18. No disrespect intended boys and girls but fishing shirts and Nascar shirts are the gaudiest things i have ever seen having said that Misfish your shirts are the exception of course.
  19. A big school of deer what were they doing spawning?
  20. Well thats good that your not an NDP supporter, I don`t think you will see an NDP government in Ontario for sometime at least until off us middle aged types die off you see we remember the Bob Rae reign and how he almost destroyed the province.
  21. LOL the wife is going to love that add WFN to Leafs TV,Raptor TV,RDS for the Habs games not much time left for stupid shows like dancing with the stars, survivor etc. Oh well.
  22. If your not upset by the price of gas you don`t have a pulse! One of the Toronto radio station had a guy on a couple of weeks claiming there was no data to suggest that there is no correlation with price increases at the pump and holidays or long weekends of course the oil companies paid for this study. On a global level the US and Canada pay the lowest price in the world for gas in Europe the price per gallon in Canadian dollars is about 8.50 versus our 4.50 or so. I know 4.50 is still expensive but just adding a little perspective and while i don`t like it you can`t blame the oil companies for taking advantage of their good fortune every other business would or does the same thing it all about supply and demand and as you know there is no shortage of demand from the public the car manufactures keep making cars and trucks with more gas guzzling high horsepower engines and people buy them, how many people do you see commuting to work driving SUV`s plenty i`ll bet,how many people do you see flying across the lake in a boat with a 250 HP egngine slapped on the back, lots of demand for gas.Eventually the high price of gas will catch up with us and our life styles will have to change I know for me my gas costs are high i have a boat and I drive to my trailer every weekend but i enjoy it so i pay the price.
  23. I was there today looking for a deal on a bow mount trolling no deal to be found! but managed to spend a few bucks, Got one of those rechargeable flashlight a few spinner baits a few bags of Gulp got some load guides for the trailer that were on sale, the baitcaster I wanted was out of stock so I settled for a BPS Pro Qualifier time will tell if it`s anygood first BPS reel for me. Daily sales Thursday Northland jigs 1.59 Friday Lindy worm harness 0.79 Saturday Berkley Lightning rods 17.88 Saturday Storage Boxes 1.99
  24. I agree Tybo but there are a lot of people who do and will continue too tow a rig with a car personally i think it`s risky and potentially very dangerous I just hope that when those little 4 cylinder car parts start breaking under the strain I am not any where nearby.
  25. When I bought last year i had narrowed it down to the Crestliner 16 fish hawk and the Alumacraft Navigator 165 when the final decision was made i went with Alumacraft because of the full windshield, the Alumacraft was a little longer and 5" wider on the beam and it had a riveted hull which was important to me. Given that most boats in that price range are very similar in what they offer feature wise i think hull/warranty should be on the top of your list when doing your research for me personally i wanted to stay away from a welded hull after reseaching welded hulls i decided riveted was the way go i just read to many horror stories about welded hulls that is not to say all welded hulls are bad and will crack but if you do get one that cracks it seems like a nightmare to get it fixed properly. A boat with a cracked hull usually spends more time in the repair shop than it does the water.
