I have spent the last 4 summers at Goreski`s on Lake Scugog and I have never heard of any water on Scugog being privately owned or heard of anybody being chased off it. I would certainly be interested in more info on that. Goreski`s put up no fishing in the marina signs 2 years ago seems to work i have not seen anybody fishing with the exception of the local campers and kids, are the signs legal I don`t really know I do know they were getting complaints from boaters seems they were getting a little tired of guys in bass boats bouncing jigs off their boats

I believe having "water rights" attached to a property simply means you have the right to use the water i.e. in a manufacturing environment etc. and does not mean you own the lake or river or a part of it, having said all that it would be nice to know the actual legalities of the topic instead of our speculation. I am sure one of members will find a link to the correct answer. Good Topic!

LOL I think he was power tripping as long as you don`t trespass on his property he can not stop you from fishing on the river the river is owned by the province and that means you, me and every other Ontarian. I recall once many years ago I was fishing a small lake in Muskoka and came apon a nice bit of shoreline so I started casting and a couple of minutes later the property owner comes running down to the shore telling me that I was not allowed to fish there because it is private property claiming he owned the first 15 feet of the lake I politely told that I owned shares in the whole lake but he was more than welcomed to use my lake any time he wanted.

Congrats on the 14 years but your still newlyweds! -
I don`t know much about the subject of global warming but i do recall 20-30 years ago the fad dujour was the coming ice age,the scientific folk were falling all over themselves warning us of the pending doom with all kinds of data to back their claims.

I should get one of the mods to update my post count from the old board i am tired of being a minnow in a big pond!

I have a few of those magic lures as well and all they did was magically remove more money from my wallet. Give me a spinnerbait and or a jig and i will catch fish (why then do i have 5 tackle boxes full of stuff ?)

There is nothing wrong with keeping a dozen or so perch for the pan but personally I can not see myself taking a limit home say 100 perch assuming my son or wife is with me while I like eating fish i would never eat that much fish from any body of water regardless of what the fish eating guides say plus i can`t see myself filleting 100 fish!

Rather than being concerned with people`s catch and release habits one should be concerned with the locals who fish in the morning and take their limit home and then come back after lunch and take another limit home, I see it it happens all the time on Simcoe. The local poachers do more harm than the Goby.

You need more horse power.

Large heavy trucks on the ice now is not wise especially after one went in on Friday but you know ice fishermen are not the sharpest knives in the drawer OFC members excluded of course! BTW nice perch!
-
I don`t know maybe i am old fashion but that does not look like fishing.
-
Dumb as brick,i wouldn`t put a hut out on 4.5 inches of ice let alone a heavy 4x4. All it takes is a phone call or 2 too check conditions.

I used a chainsaw once many years it was very messy got soaked slipped and fell and almost cut my leg off so needless to say i prefer an auger.

I agree Pinch someone who can identify a spot from a picture has been there a few times! Personally i think it`s ridiculous to photoshop pictures and I have tendency not to look at threads with altered pictures attached but hey they are your pictures do what you want with them. And your right you do have a lot to say for 17 year old who has never had to buy a license yet and don`t be to tough on us older guys we have released many more fish than you,we have bought many more license`s than you and we have put many more tax dollars back into the system than you.

And how bout those Habs?????

I can see that ending in disaster one of these days, i am always amazed at what people come up with to test fate!

Note to self...Stay off Superior. Awesome pictures thanks for sharing!

I would agree somewhat on the money grab aspect especially if your just going to look at all the shinny new boats but if your going to buy or research a potenial new purchase then the 25 bucks can be justified as it would cost a lot more to drive around to all the various dealers to look at potential purchases.

terrible TERRIBLE drivers !!!!!!!!!!!!! ......(NF)
lookinforwalleye replied to lew's topic in General Discussion
It`s a fact that once you get south of the mullet line(Hwy.9) driving when you even the slightest bit of snow on the ground is a risky proposition too many people who don`t have a clue how to handle a car when conditions are less than ideal and thats not even mentioning the cheap bald summer tires they have on their cars and forget the so called all season tire they are next to useless in a Canadian winter, snow tires should be mandatory. -
Right Or Left Hand Retrieve Question.
lookinforwalleye replied to Joey's topic in General Discussion
As with 90% of the baitcast users out there i cast with my right hand and retrieve with the left and as far as it being slower on the retrieve that is not the case if i want too i can have the reel in my left before the bait hits the water. -
Try a flourocarbon leader they are strong and nick resistant i know Musky fisherman use them so i don`t see why you couldn`t use it for Pike.
