Spiderwire Stealth is my fav braid. I find it just stays tougher longer than Power Pro. To each his own though.

Cambridge, Paris, Brantford, Caledonia, York, Cayuga, Dunnville.. all have the species you're looking for. For smallies, Paris is my favourite stretch. The fish aren't necessarily big and it has it's tough days, but it's my favourite stretch for scenery. For numbers of fish Caledonia/York is my favourite. The Grand takes some work, especially for the walleye, but you can have spectacular days there.

Down 106lbs from 2 summers ago! The three ways I lost weight: 1) I walk half hour to work and back everyday, plus walk everywhere else I can 2) I cut wayyyyy back on drinking 3) No more fast food Though I really do miss my permanent tackle shelf

We had Tuesday off and the use of the truck so we packed up the boat and headed to the Urban Fisherman's stomping grounds hoping for some of these big bass he speaks of. Was hoping he'd be able to make it out but PM's didn't shoot back & forth fast enough unfortunately. Anywho, the bassin' was slow. It's a big, deep, clear reservoir which makes things tough on a bright, hot day. We did eventually get into quite a few bass but all dinks. Finally spotted a good 4 pounder in a stick up but he spotted us long before we spotted him and stayed lockjawed. The most supple of offerings wouldn't subdue this bass so, defeated, we moved on. Still had a fun time there and enjoyed some of the best scenery Norfolk county has to offer. There was even a new PB as Sugarpacket landed her new PB WGSF on a spinnerbait which just happened to be while I was bringing in a little bass. Unfortunately next to the bass, the rock bass seems much smaller than what it was. This thing was an honest pound at least. She continued on her rock bass crusade throughout the day. And finally, she was sidetracked by a largemouth. This pie plate bluegill came out to play as well. Actually, it fought better than most of my bass that day. lol And the dink of the day prize goes to me with this amazingly handicapped crappie that smacked a spinnerbait. Like I said, a beautiful reservoir to fish though. And this afternoon when we finished work we headed to a small municipal pond to try our luck at some largemouth. I landed a couple on weightless plastic worms, unfortunately Sugarpacket didn't have much luck here with her whopper fish being a 12 inch chub minnow. Here's the biggest of the day, which is by no means a big fish. Always fun to get out and enjoy summer while we can!

Absolutely Amazing day on Sturgeon Lake!!!!!!!!!!

The bass looks like a "mean-mouth" aka smallie/largie cross breed. Bet it fought like crazy too! Congrats on the awesome day! -
I've heard a lot of not-so-great things about Nitro boats from past owners, but I personally can't give any first-hand advice. If you like bass fishing, a bass boat is certainly a good bet. The sonar system on your flippin' deck near the bow mount can basically just be a sonar. The one at the helm you may want to incorporate a dual sonar/GPS system. GPS is a great safety tool and also fishing tool as you can mark potentially good spots and go back to them later on. If you can afford the 4 stroke, I'd say go for it. It'll save ya on fuel so why not.

Stratos, back in the day used to make an excellent Fish N Ski style boat. Had the features of a bass boat, with the comforts of a pleasure craft. If they still make anything like it, you may want to look into that.

I've got the 14' aluminum Filth Hound of course, and the 10 foot Bass Hound, which was cool at first with running lights, livewell, etc.. but has deteriorated into a floating raft with a motor mount, lol. I've got a float tube too, but rarely use it. Not a big fan of fishing alone.

Buddy of mine lives up there, he swears by the Buzzbomb but has caught them on Cleos, Long A's, Rat L Traps and yes of course float fishing. Says it's best the last week of August.

You could always save it for the next time you need to re-finish a deck!

I don't remember the acid trip quite like that! LOL Dang I missed a big bass there. More like, it missed. It only rolled on the bait.. but wow. Pushing 6lbs no prob! I didn't think Waterford grew 'em that big.

That sums up my entire first aid kit!

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/cbc/080815/cana...watermelon_nain ----------------------------------------------- Basically the product came in with the wrong price tag. They took it to the back and re-priced it. What's next? Details on how a cat drank out of the toilet without getting it's feet wet?

I wonder if they caught anything in that spot?

Didja ever watch the movie "Strange Wilderness"? They chased Bigfoot the whole movie and ended up shooting him when they saw him. lol There ya go, there's his body!

Wow, nice! Can't wait for my trip out east next year to fish for those brutes!

Congrats! Throw away the car keys and walk wherever you can. This is my advice to everyone. Not only is it healthy for you, it's better for the environment and you see things you don't notice in a car. Personally I love the outdoors and enjoy going for walks to the parks and other areas around me.

There is in Canada now from what I hear. Ashes can't be spread on public waterways without a permit.

My Dollarama has some storm stuff I've been waiting for the Blue Fox to come in, great lures!

For some of us Justin, that would be an exceptionally good day. Good on ya for working the water hard and finally being paid off. Decent pike too!

I got a bike but prefer to walk. Walking everywhere has contributed to me losing 106 pounds in the last 2 years. I guess if I used the bike I could just ride even further though!
