  1. Hey Viper, if you can not get the boat in the water, and have some time to spare, tell the seller you want to fill the bottom of the boat up with a garden hose, then crank the front end as high as you can so the water goes to the back, let it sit for 30 minutes, and inspect for leaks underneath, then lower it all the way down so the water goes to the front, then let it sit and inspect under. I know this will not show small leaks, but anything you shoudl be worried about should come through. This worked for me in the past, and most of the time the sellers reaction to this request tells it all PS - what money are you looking to spend??
  2. WOW, that video has touched me in so many ways. I am an emotional wreck at the moment. GO CLAY
  3. Sounds close, depend on the make of the boat, what particulars can you give on his 16ft boat? Make of boat Model Deep or not Floor or casting deck ? Livewell? Nav lights etc Thanks SHAne
  4. What guppy says is very true, however, be very careful if you ever plan on selling on ebay because as guppy clearly stated, ebay(paypal) is very quick to put money back in your account, however, as a seller, DO NOT sell on ebay to people with no or low feedback, because reality is, there are crooks in this world, and all it takes is one dishonest person to ruin it(trust me I learnt this the hard way based on a sale gone bad). I sold a hockey card ($200) on ebay, I received payment very very quickly, so I shipped promptly, here is where it gets dicey. In my add, I was very very clear that the buyer had two options for shipping. A) 3.00 regular shipping and I would not guarantee arrival. or 15.00 for priority shipping and insurance, which at the time in BOLD I recommended it for any cards over 100.00, (Now I wont even ship unless they pay insurance and priority shipping) Anyhow, apparently he did not get the card, but did opt for the 3.00 not guaranteed shipping. Well, he complained, and paypal immediately took the money out of my account. I am still tryign to get it back, I know I will, but it is a lengthy process. I have all the proof. Did he get the card??????????????? Only he knows Lesson learned 1) only sell to people with good feedback 2) take the time to email a few references if need be before completeing the transaction 3) for anythign valuable, do not settle for reg shipping only
  5. no need to worry at all, I have completed over 160 transactions using ebay, both as a seller and buyer with hockey cards. If u desperately need peace of mind, get a credit card with a low limit (200-500 bucks) and attach that to your paypal account. That way if something happened, its only a few buck. However, I think that is over kill, I never worry about it as it is very secure.
  6. Hey all, as promised, here are some pics after the new seats have been installed: BEFORE: AFTER:
  7. WOW, I appreciate all the time you took putting into this post, unfortunately rather than being in here reading this great and informative post, I was outside installing the new seats i picked up today. My buddy loves it, he is also my roomate. I did matk the spots and then take the seat out to install. Took me about 4 hours to install I will get some pics soon
  8. Hey man, show me a pic of your boat. How do you like it? I picked up some sweet seats today, installed them tonight. I will get some new pics tomorrow and post them for you. What size engine do you have on yours?
  9. very nice boat, I hope you get to enjoy it very very soon. I love the colours
  10. Thanks for the reply and pic. Were they easy to install? Did they come with mounting screws/bolts/etc, or did you have to purchase seperate?? Kinda hard to tell from the pic as it is a bit small, but did you have to drill any big holes to install??
  11. Hey all, my budy recently picked up a 09 LEGEND Pro Sport Tiller, Talk about floor space in this thing. Anyway it is very plain inside, sweet layout, but in dire need of some seats. We have been looking around at the local marinas, crappy tire, walmart, etc. Our first hurdle will be to find some in the colours that path the LEGEND Black /white/tan colours now. Anyway, in researching and lookin at what to get for him , neither of us realised there were as many different style seat swivels, posts, and floor mounts. Some you just screw the mount with four bolts/nuts with a square deasign, and as some of you know some are inset into the floor by way of drilling a bigger hole. The square base design that bolts directly to the floor and seat with four buts/bolts look like the easiest to install, but probably not a favorite for many due to the big diameter of the post section. Please share you opinions and experiences during install, which do you prefer and why ? We will be def installing a seat onto the casting deck which is easy to access the underside, also one at the back on the half seat where you drive the tiller, again easy to access underside by removing seat top. Due to the huge floor space he would like to install another onto the floor about half way up, this is where I am not sure, as there is not way to access the underside of the floor to bolt the base in, or is this necessary. Here is a pic of his boat ( these colours in my opinion are nicer than the old green. For what he paid I think he made out well
  12. My buddy picked up the boat, he could only afford to go with the 25 hp stroke, we went out today and the 25 handled itself very very well. WOW< this boat had a ton of space. I would seriously consider one of these, throw a pedestal seat upfront and a nice cushioon seat in the back. I would be happy for years
  13. Not exactly sure Forrest, it is my budy that has been in contact with the salesman as it is for him, however according to their website it looks like the difference to goto a 25hp 4 stroker is: $1400 manual start $1700 electric
  14. I agree, i did the search, read through 9 pages, LOL. I guess I knew before I posted that it would be mixed opinions, it is almost like starting a convo regarding religion, or auto manufactureers. LOL Either way, I have read a ton, and have printed some posts for my buddy to read.
  15. Posting this for a buddy, he is looking at getting the following: 2009 LEGEND 16ft pro sport (tiller) Live well, floor, deck, storage 25hp 2 stroke MERC (NEW) Trailer $7600 out the door I think this seems reasonable , but I am not familiar with LEGEND at all. Anyone have any experience goo/bad with them?
