  1. I'll save 2 seats for you....and one for Andrea too. Have a blast you big palooka. Hey, I hear there's a tiny body of water down there with some great fishing. Atlantic Ocean/Carribean Sea...or something like that. See if ya can bring us back some fishing pictures.
  2. Ahhh ! A very nice picture to wake up to every morning. Congradulations !!!
  3. Very nice Roger. I'm sure it will give you years of excellent fishing and boating adventures. Congradulations !!!
  4. Good for the shift workers who can't get out during regular business hours. Does this affect all stores ? Up to Christmas or beyond ?
  5. No matter how much I dislike the Habs, I don't wish this kind of thing on anybody.
  6. Not a good start to the winter season.
  7. WOW ! Excelent job guys. I was really getting into that tune.
  8. Excellent work guys. Seeing John Candy's face mixed in there gave me a good chuckle.
  9. We warned you Paul. Ya hafta be careful whatch ya say round here.
  10. The Ranger has a 5000 lb. hitch Bill. I don't think I've towed more than about 2500 lbs. with it though. The truck does need some work. Thanks guys/gals. I was overdue for a new vehicle. No worries Wayne. I know it's the right vehicle for me. Funny story since some people prefer imports. Dad was with me when I went to the dealer for the truck. The next day, he was at my brother's house and ended up at a dealership looking at vehicles again. Bro picked up a new Honda Pilot SUV. An upgrade in size from his Toyota Highlander. Our dad must think we won the lottery to both be getting new vehicles just before Christmas. Actually, they're both leases. We have 3 kids each, from newborn to 7 years old. Plus lots of neices and nephews from the wives' side of the family. My wife started Christmas shopping at the beggining of last month and has been out doing the festive stuff almost every day. If she keeps it up, I'm sending her back to work to support her spending habits.
  11. You shouldn't be hitting the pop bottle so hard in the middle of the day Lew.
  12. After my recent trip to Quinte where I took the mini van and left my wife and 3 kids without transportation, it was quickly decided I needed a new vehicle. Laura doesn't drive manual tranny's, so even though I left my pick-up behind, she wasn't able to use it. Not exactly the optimum vehicle for the family, even if it did have an automatic tranny. Well, it didn't take long to make the decision once I got home from my fishing trip. Here's the newest girl in my life, now parked at the end of the driveway. 2007 FORD ESCAPE LIMITED SUV - 3.0 litre engine, 4x4 with automatic tranny , trailer hitch, wiring and tranny cooler. Her towing capacity is rated at 3500lbs. Should be fine for my needs. The old girl....still in the driveway, but now listed in this sites classifieds. 1992 FORD RANGER XLT Ext. Cab Pick-up - 4.0 litre, 4x4 with 5 spd. manual tranny.
  13. Not sure about the "long winter" statement since winter hasn't officially started yet, but I know the London area got hammered with snow last week. Rising temps could cause flooding.
  14. I know the guys go fishing Sundays this time of year. They spend a lot of time on Quinte for walleye.
  15. Very gutsy statement since she's a board member and will probably read this. If you have a black eye next time I see you, no need to explain.
  16. That bites. Front or rear yard ? How old was it ? What part of the city ? Neighbourhood ? Intersection ? Is it you friends house ? Does he have room mates or tennants in his house ? If it was in open view (front yard) it could be anyone. Rear yard and hidden from view, it's most likely someone who has see it there before and has been eyeing it for a while, waiting for their chance (friend's friend, neighbour, neighbour's friend, etc) rather than a random person. You would need a truck, trailer or a roof rack on a car to take it away. I doubt someone just ran down the street with it. Unless it was heisted by a neighbour. Then it could be in their garage, waiting for a chance to be moved elsewhere. Could be someone looking to sell it as scrap metal. I think good, clean, quality aluminum goes for at least a buck a pound. Hope you find it and the culprit gets what they deserve.
  17. I love 'em for still fishing current areas or very slow trolling with the electric. (make your own current) You can pick them up at any of the previously mentioned locations. I usually change the hooks to something of better quality. Sometimes I'll add a small cheater hook (single or tiny treble) for the short bites.
  18. Wait to see Uncle Buck on the ice. If it doesn't break, I may venture out a bit. Better if there's someone with a snowmobile or atv on the ice to reasure me it's safe. I don't like taking chances like that. There's no fish worth losing your life over. I ain't stupid, just a little crazy !!!
  19. That's a great idea. Looks great and right in line with your lifestyle. I don't think I'd ever do it though. Don't feel like putting away all the lures when the tree comes down.
  20. We're so good, we thought it would be a nice festive gesture to let the habs get a head start before wiping the ice with them. LEAFS NATION RULES THE NHL !!!
  21. Haven't fished in your boat Lew...yet. Someone took that pic. If it was an OFNer, sooner or later they'll recognize the it. Could you have been out with a trailer/cottage neighbour ? Is it possible you were alone ? Try and think of the clothes you are wearing ? Obviously it's warm and sunny. Possibly June, July, August, Sept. Anything on the boat that can narrow the timeframe ? Newer gear, etc. If it's a spot you fish often, you should remember the background and weed bed. If that doesn't click, it could be a hotspot for someone else who was in the boat with you. Would you have been driving the Dakota, the Safari, an earlier vehicle, or is it possible someone else was trailering your boat for you, maybe to their favourite lake ? Just trying to help you shuffle the files between your ears. When you least expect it, you'll remember. Oh, and a very sweet fish, even if the day is a blur.
