  1. Great shots DouG. Hey, who's the funny looking guy kneeling on the ice, praying to the fishing Gods ?
  2. All this negativity regarding carp. Nobody loves me. I think I'm going to cry!
  3. Looks like a fine trip for you and the rest of the gang Wayne. Beauty lakers and whities.
  4. I'm not a Habs fan, but have to admit it was a heck of a comback win last night. The only time I ceer for Montreal is when all other Canadian teams have been eliminated from the playoffs. Then it's "GO HABS - GO CANADA".
  5. More and more people will be looking for work close to home, or buying homes close to work, in order to save the fuel costs. I know a large company that was based in north east Toronto (Scarborough) and moved their operations to Kitchener, ON. Most of the employees couldn't afford the long drive to work on minimum wage and would have surely quit if they were forced to commute. Lots of minimum wage jobs close to home. It was cheaper for the company to buy a bus and transport everyone back and forth than increase wages to attract qualified people in the Kitchener area.
  6. Hey Lex, It'll probably be cheaper to drive the moped to the lake and just rent a boat. Carrying tackle may be a challenge though.
  7. Let the boy know you have friends who are pig farmers, then have him watch the movie "Snatch". If he scoffs at your suggestion, ask him to look up "Port Coquitlam, B.C. pig farmer" on the net. If that doesn't have him worried, I can suggest alternative methods. Unfortunately, I cannot publish those methods, especially on a public forum. They could be used against me in court to charge me as an accomplice. Yeah, I've had time to think about those methods. I have 2 young girls myself. God help the poor shmuck who shows up at my door.
  8. I've already contacted you about donating a prize Mo, but just thought I'd confirm here. Count me in for a spinning rod and reel combo. If for some reason I'm not able to attend, I'm sure someone else can deliver the goods for me. Hopefully the temps co-operate or we'll need the boats for this one. I hate global warming. Let winter be winter. DANG !!!
  9. Excellent story Jen. Congrats on your first deer. That's a real beauty and an accomplishment you can be proud of. I know people who have hunted deer for 50 years and never shot such a magnificent buck.
  10. Sounds like a very good year Lew. I'd take a fraction of that and be extremely happy. Good job. Hey, I know the sweety in the last pic. Definitely the best of the them.
  11. ........one of these days......... Definitely impressive fish.
  12. Didn't think there would be enough ice to ride a sled on yet. Some people won't learn until it happens to them. Thanks for the pics.
  13. I have the VHF mounted under the dash, just below the steering wheel. The fishing sonar is on top of the dash. The vhf antenna is mounted to the right side of the dash on a wider section of gunnel which supports the dash. It folds towards the rear of the boat, but short of the transom. Not really anywhere else that it would make sense as far as I can see. So far, planer mast lines haven't been a problem. When the line gets to the antenna, you adjust the steering accordingly. Haven't had a problem with reception, but I guess it's better to keep the radio and antenna as far from other wiring as possible.
  14. My condolences Gary. Never easy when a loved one passes. My thougts are with you.
  15. Hey, that's a tasty looking haul Glenn. Sweet !!!
  16. I love ice fishing just as much as anybody, but walking on 3 inches isn't my thing. What happens when 3 inches turns into 2 inches or thinner as you're walking ??? I'll wait for 6 inches + before venturing out anywhere. If I drown, my wife will kill me !!! Don't be in a hurry. Be sure. Be safe. Be alive for the next report.
  17. Excellent gift for you Emil. Boat looks sharp. I'm sure you'll have much enjoyment with your new ride. Cheers
  18. Let's put it off until they can accomodate us on a weekend. Some out of town members wouldn't have to wory about getting home early for work the next day. Some can make a weekend trip out of it. I'm pretty busy between now and Christmas, so a weekend in January would suit me just fine. Cheers
  19. Nice report Dano. Missed this one, but I'll be back.
  20. Awesome stuff.
  21. Water? Smart bass eh.
  22. Excellent Cliff. Always nice to nail a pb. Congrats.
  23. Well, another fine Quinte report Wayne. Glad everyone had fun. I couldn't make it, but might head down for a day this coming weekend. I haven't been on OFC much lately. Missing it large. cheers
  24. Congrats on the walleye. Looks like everyone had a great time, despite some high winds and the puking thing. You might want to remember to keep the high winds to your back while puking. Wish I could have made this one. Might get down for a day this coming weekend.
  25. Well a big Happy Birthday to both Lew and Paul. Have a great day guys.
