Yum , spring Cohoes, the best of the bunch out there on the table. Like the old Fenwick Riggerstick with the Ambassadeur 6500, my choice too since the 80's, all you really need off a rigger.

Aren't hunting and fishing licences a provincial thing -
You're dating yourself Craig, I suppose any who don't know who Tiny Bennet is wouldn't remember the Toronto Telegram either.

Ditto, 62 year old eyes and bifocals for the last 12, difference is like nite and day especially any text on the screen. Somethings up with your TV or setup/installation or maybe you need to go through the menues on your TV or receiver again. Got ExpressVue too and a mid quality LG TV.

Bought the HD receiver for Expess-Vue at Futureshop with no contract a few years ago, it was just a receiver but you could add an external Hard Drive to it and make it a PVR. Pretty sure it was just 10 dollars a month to add the HD channels to my existing package. Had an old 200 gig external kicking around , works good. Must be some hd receivers/cable boxes on Kijiji/ebay.

That would be his longtime buddy Steve Cropper playing on Dunn's right with the long hair, they were still playing together on his last night.

One of the best bassplayers. Played with a lot of bands and session players. http://www.popmatters.com/pm/article/158554-donald-duck-dunn-dead-at-70-a-soul-rhythm-section-great/

First spots I try are shallow dark bottomed bays on the windward shore with wood blown into them.

HD all the way, I really noticed an improvement in the sound too if you got some external sound system hooked up.

Fiberglass vs. Aluminum - pros and cons
dave524 replied to sneak_e_pete's topic in General Discussion
Fibreglass doesn't like ice or vice versa if you ever plan on hitting the Niagara River for winter steelhead. -
Just east of Kashagawigamog, there is Barnum, Black and Loon for walleye. Loon is a tough one too, no personal experience with Barnum and Black but the stocking numbers for the last 8 years look encouraging for their small size.

there are quite a few species of non parasitic lamprey, where in the Credit was it?, if it was in the headwaters woulld probably one of them.

If it's walleyes you want most of the lakes on the Burnt River System in Haliburton have walleye in them, pike you are out of luck in Haliburton That Gull Lake is on Hwy 35

Looking at the transom ,it seems to have started and worked outward from where the transom aluminum has been drilled for the spashwell drain, hold down ring etc, probably wasn't sealed and the plywood core is wet in this area and the corrosion is from the inside out. Think I would pull the motor and replace the plywood in the transom and reinstall the hardware with proper sealant. Maybe back the affected area with a aluminum sheet and 3M 5200 and fill the exterior surface with JB Weld. Been researching restoring older aluminums and this seems to be a pretty common problem.
-
I would be concerned, NJ registration, salt water. Edit: probably got poured in foam under the floor , it there is salt water in the foam next to the hull you could be looking at perforation developing. Maybe the plywood in the transom is wet too.

this has been my experience with the revving up and down.

What's your favourite kind of fishing and why?
dave524 replied to Dontcryformejanhrdina's topic in General Discussion
It's really quite the opposite, it's really like a chess game, moving the pieces around or figuring out a puzzle, constantly changing stuff up or down , changing speed, lures and presentations to fit what you see on the finder. When it all comes together and the rods start firing makes it all worthwhile Then when the end of Sept comes, I pack away the high tech and go super basic a rod, float and simple float reel for steelhead until mid April again. -
You've seen the perch catches recently courtesy of Billy Bob and Court R, also a 5 fish box of 30lbs for smallies or 40+ lbs for Walleyes is a realistic goal here. Been fishing here since the late 50's and it has never been better than now.

That looks good as it contains no wax or silicone, be very careful what you use if you are going to have it repainted in the fall, any residual stuff like wax and silcon causes havoc with adhesion and quality of any new paint. It really don't look too bad, I'd just clean it and a very mild abrasive buffing.

Another oldtime jig and spinner combo, that has produced when a little flash helps is the Blakemore Road Runner. A crappie lure par excellance in the white maribou and great for walleye in the larger sizes.

Actually the Ping a T's go for a pretty good price, there are a few diehards that like them. I have a couple, they are with my steelhead gear, the skunk coloured one was supposed to be hot in the rivers fished like you would a Flatfish or Quickfish. The Fireplugs were a spring salmon fishing staple, back in the early Coho days. Remember fishing in the early 70's with Dad, launch at Foran's here in Grimsby and troll 15 feet of water with them just east of the rifle range, catch a mess of small coho and football browns. Still got a bunch in 2 sizes in red, chartreuse and chrome, the chrome ones were successful behind a set of cowbells for Lakers in Haliburton, when you ran out of good sized chubs to rig up with a baiting needle.

The first ones are Ping a T's and the last ones are Luhr Jensen Fireplugs.

Anchor! better have 150 feet preferably 200 feet of anchor line and chain rode.

suggestions on a substitute planner board reel(s)
dave524 replied to vinnimon's topic in General Discussion
My mast is actually a 5 foot section of galv TV tower masthead with a couple of eye bolts at the top for attaching the lines at the bottom it is welded to a 3 inch square plate with a piece of solid round stock to fit the hole for the seat. Edit: with a 30" stick each wrap is 5 feet, you would need a 18" reel to recover that much per turn -
I've got a pair of Big Jon electrics that date back to 82, they have the old solid, 1 piece, stainless , tip up booms. I really like the tip up for getting a hold of the ball and release. Not so crazy about the new multi sectional booms. With a punch for removing roll pins, allen wrench and a screw driver you can replace any part on them. Maybe I like that they look like a machinist made them rather than a plastic mould machine.
