  1. It's a crap ramp for sure. It's an old road that runs into the lake. All gravel and mud and very shallow. If you have a 4wd you might be able to get in far enough to launch but it's always harder getting the boat out. It really is a small lake and all you need is a canoe to fish all of it. I asked them why they don't drop a load of fresh gravel there but they said first they would have to do an environmental assesment on the effects.
  2. Nice carp report Marko. That's always fun, sightfishing from a bridge.
  3. Thanks lew. I think it's my camera Victor, it's just a cheap kodak, here is the first pic that I took without a flash. Turned out very dark, but the fish still looks good.
  4. Went out to Mountsberg Sunday from 12noon to 2:30pm in the kayak for my last pike outing of the year. Did an hour long drift across the lake in 10-15km/h breeze. Picked up 5 pike on drift and two fishing the bay out of the wind. All were caught on Blue Fox spinner #4 in firetiger. This one was the last of the 7 fish and was 28" long. Sadly, the biggest of three trips for pike. Of course the wind picked up to 20-25km/h for my paddle back across the lake. If I catch any more pike it will be accidental as I'll now target crappies next week and then Musky opener the following weekend. Add a walleye trip or two and the next thing you know, Bass will be open.
  5. Nice job SS, congrats on the fish. You are really hardcore fishing all night.
  6. Nice haul, there some good eats. Congrats.
  7. The newer Honda Odysseys have the engine management system that allows the motor to switch to 3cyl from 6cyl when the extra power is not needed. I think it started in 06 or 07. The Element is great if you can get past the styling. If you can find a Toyota Highlander with the 4cyl 2.4L that would be good too. Personally I like he new Scion XB for 2008.
  8. GO RANGERS!!! I was at the Hockey fest in the rink behind the Aud today with my daughter. Fun interactive stuff for the kids to play, air hockey, foosball, Wii, face painting and some trophies on display. Missed the Stanley Cup though, maybe next time.
  9. Joonmoon Jediangler Mmmm...good. Jediangler Can't wait to see your project concluded ccmt.
  10. Zdeno cycle in Kitchener on Victoria st. is our local bike wreckers.
  11. Great report Victor. Congrats on the 35"er Wolfville. MJL that certainly is a pretty carp. I haven't seen any mirrors in the Grand in my area. Did you ever catch any Victor last year when you where in Waterloo?
  12. Good start, braving the elements and all. You might find a drift sock helpfull in those windy conditions.
  13. I agree with most here thinking you've overfilled your spool. The hot water works to eliminate memory (phone cord) but does nothing for line twist. Spooling with the label up and the line spool flat on the floor, no pencil. If you have a boat troll your line out behind the boat, as BillM says, or let your line out in a current, river or stream, and reel it back in if you're shorebound. My solution, buy fireline for your spinning reels and give mono the boot.
  14. Nice eyes. That's some good eatin' there.
  15. Another BEAUTY report man. That pick of the stomach contents on the filet knife was my favourite. Well done
  16. I go in tonight at 11pm, so I guess I'm working on Victoria Day, even if it is only for one hour.
  17. Finally got the video I took of you guys up on Youtube. The music is a little known instrumental from REM called winged mammal theme that was considered but rejected for the Batman movie. Here's the link.
  18. Nice fish man, good luck on Thursday. I'll be watching for your report.
  19. Maybe we should have a GTG on the 17th while he's in court I'll bring the fishcrisp.
  20. Great day on the water with you two. I fished until 2pm and ended up with 12 pike. After you left I tried the blue fox #4 in firetiger and that got me another 5 fish. My biggest was only 24" but if you hold them close enough to the camera they look bigger You are lucky that your tow hitch didn't come off while driving home on the 401 or this might have been the last photo of the "Cooler w/seats". I'm still working on the video I took of you, it'll be done soon, I hope.
  21. Haha...good one GCD.
  22. We still catch them north of Parry Sound at my Grandfathers hunt camp. I believe the ratio is 1 in 15 walleyes we catch are blue. The colour doesn't come off, they are generally smaller, and their eyes are larger and higher on the head than the yellows. My brother Joonmoon sent a pic in to Bob Izumi over 20 yrs ago. He offered to have my brother on Real Fishing with him if he'd guide him to the fish. Joon declined.
  23. I owned a Ford once, it's the only vehicle I've owned that needed a motor and transmission replacement. Remember their old slogan..."have you driven a Ford lately?" It's almost like they admitted to making bad cars in the past. Never again.
  24. Looks like Friday will be the best of wind and weather conditions for the whole weekend. I'm on graveyard shift so after I take the little one to school I'll be off in the kayak in search of big Mountsberg pike. Hope I don't fall asleep at the paddle
  25. Well done bro and sis. I'm sure the number of other boats out there was much less than the opener on Saturday. Probably had the whole lake to yourselves.
