I'd rather they take my plasma then my rod.... I had my bow mount stolen of my boat in my driveway... And a small box of brand new musky baits outta my car... Along with my fishing camera with all my pics and no back ups... If I ever catch one of these losers in action... Oh man...

I've found 1/2 oz is the best l around weight for me on the st.lawrence so far... Lotsa current and smallies at all depths... But if there's big wind you may have to step up to an even heavier weight...

So I wanna get my son his own rod because he's loving fishing.... I'm leaning heavily towards an ugly stick... For durability.... And small... Like the 5' 6" med.... But I was wondering what the parents experiences have been with little kids and rod/reel set ups... Spinning...? Spincast...? He has reeled in a bass already on my spinning outfit.... But I know the push button is easier to cast.... But I'm thinking the weight of the spincast reel on top would tend to roll the rod over.... He's only 2 years old... Thanks Mike

So I'm not sure what happened today... I was fishing a tourney today when an ugly black cloud rolled in and it started to pour rain.... No thunder... No lightning... I got 3 shocks in my hand holding the rod in about 10 seconds... Freaked me right out... My hand felt funny for a while and I felt a little light headed... Anybody have any thoughts on what happened?

I have this unit... Every so often it takes 10-20 minutes to get a signal.... Not often... But 1/10 trips maybe... So what I do is turn the unit on at home.... But turn off the sonar feature... By the time I get to the launch its always got the signal.... Works for me.... As far as I know there is no external antenna for this unit... But the internal can be replaced... How long was the unit on when you were looking for signal... ??

Happens to me every year... Never actually saw one ripped in 2 pieces tho... Just cut up a bit...

I like to weigh fish when I'm pre fishing a tourney to know what my weight would be at the end of each pre fish day...

If you referring to the ones with a built in swivel... Yes... Love em... Don't need to tie a special knot... Anyone can rig em... Gives more action to the bait... Reduces line twist.... I'm using the VMC spinshot hooks in 1/O...

Just got my order from Xzone today (that I pay full price for before anyone starts assuming I'm spamming...lol).... Opened it up to find a color I didn't order... And after a long poopy night at work I was quick to assume my order was messed up... But no... They sent me an extra pack of a different color to try on the house... I just think that's great... And it made up for about half my shipping costs... So thank you Xzone.... So far between the results using Xzone slammers and this complimentary gift... I'll be making an effort to substitute in their baits wherever possible in my arsenal... I have no problem supporting good businesses like this... Quality product and good service/gesture... Buddy had a rod ripped out of a Scotty holder... Went back and he was surprised to find if floating... Picked it outta the water and sure enough... There was a 51 inches still on...

Great report... Looks like a great time... Greg is awesome... We went for salmon with him once... Last day of the derby a few years back.... Pulled a 15 hour day... Went 16 for 21 I think... Plenty of fish over 20lbs and a 28 and change that we decided to weigh... And your right... Fishing with Greg you'll learn a lot.... He's the one that opened my eyes to how to really use my sonar/GPS... Still waiting for him to come back down for musky.... I owe him a trip....

I picked up some "cabelas" spinning combos this spring... Absolutely love them.... I got the cabelas XML walleye series spinning rods with cabelas pro guide reels... They are sexy little combos... The rods and reels were on sale at the time so I paid $125 per combo... But regular price puts the combo at $200... But cabelas branded gear goes on sale pretty often.... I'm looking at getting some cabelas XML casting rods next time they go in sale....

What really bothers me are the anglers that are actually good fisherman... And they have respectable catches... Yet they still feel the need to lie about numbers and size.... They lose all respect... And if your gunna brag about the weight of your fish.... You should be sure to weigh them on a quality scale first....

Ok... I normally wouldn't care much but he left a huge limb in my yard... I'm gunna give benifit of the doubt... But I sure hope he at least cleans up the mess he made...
