Suggestions for a kicker motor needed.
mike rousseau replied to BillsTheBassMan's topic in General Discussion
Fuel economy... Fumes... Less noise... Was gunna say no mixing oil but your already doing that on your main.... If it's for musky and emergencies then it's not a big deal.... But if you can see yourself using it for more spooky fish like walleye and trout... Then is say 4 stroke... -

Suggestions for a kicker motor needed.

If your gunna get a kicker for a boat that size that has a 50 2 stroke... I'd definitely do wleverything I could to get a 4 stroke... 8 or 9.9 would be lots... -
St lawrence peaked at 70-71 in the channels... I'm guessing it dropped this week... I'll find out tonight...

Where will the next world record Muskie Hale from????
mike rousseau replied to Regan Thompson's topic in General Discussion
I agree 100% it's a great fishery... But I never hear of 55+ inchers being caugh there.... This thread is about records... I have no doubt it's a fun and beautiful trip... And if I could afford it id go... But I wouldn't have any expectations of an upper 50" fish... If you want 50 inchers go to st Clair... Some Guides are hooking 20+ musky some days... With plenty of 50 inchers.... I can't understand why anyone would plan a trip anywhere else right now unless your looking for a true giant somewhere else... But again... Not many pics of giant fish come out of st clair... -

Musky do surface and sometimes splash... If the fish you saw completely cleared the water is be 99.9999999% sure it's a sturgeon.... I saw some clear the water by 3-4 feet the other day... While the musky were gently rolling on the surface... -
Edit... Never mind... Re read thread...

Where will the next world record Muskie Hale from????

I think the Larry because 55-58 inchers are caught every year all over the Larry... Not the odd one... A fair number of them... And they are thick muscular fish... I'm talking the entire st lawrence system... Kingston to east past Montreal.... Georgian bay has proven itself as stated above... Nippising fish get huge in the fall... If someone gets a long fish with that fat Nip musky profile it'll be a beast... From what I've seen "most" Ottawa river fish don't have the girth.... And I think lake of the woods is over rated... I've seen reports and read up on this system and I don't think it's any better then the good southern waters (Sinclair... Ottawa...Larry..Detroit river...niagra river...) ... And your driving 20+ hours to get there... You spend that extra 40hrs (20+ each way) on top of the hours you planned to fish... Say 40-60hrs... on a one of these other waters closer to home and you'll get your results cause your putting in 80-100 hours on the water... In an equally good fishery... You put in hours like this on the Larry you've got a solid shot at your 50 incher... Is there e record on LOTW?... Maybe... But from what I've seen I'd guess it would be caught on a different patter then what 99/100 guys are doing like Throwing double 10s at rock points all day... My 2 cents based on what I've read... This thread is gunna be fun to follow... -
Toro winch? Or Toro NaCl? .

Just wondering if anyone is using one... If yes what ratio... What size baits you throwing... And how do you like it... My quantum Cabo finally has run it's course and looks like I can not get the parts I need to fix it.... I'm thinking about getting the 6:1 as a "do everything" reel instead of the 5:1 or 7:1.... Let me know what you think Mike

I had this issue before Needle valve was blocked open... That's why it runs ok at high speed/max fuel consumption and is spilling gas at idle... I cleaned my carbs and all was good...
