  1. My brother does I find it kinks up to easily...
  2. I use 40lb seagar floro leader material... I have used 100lb floro before and it worked just as good as anything else... Just kinda expensive...
  3. Thanks for all the replies everyone... Looks like I have a few things to try...
  4. I agree misfish.... MOST days it's not complicated... Spinnerbaits shallow and drop shot deep for this guy... But some days it's not that easy to boat fish... Yesterday it was the 4th or 5th pattern we tried that proved to be best... And it was like night and day... Instant results and consistently caught the rest of the day... But the bigger fish seamed to be hanging in 5-12 feet... And those are the ones I was hoping to catch
  5. 3/8-1/2 oz Usually a small silver Colorado on the bull with a gold willow on the end... Usually a white/green combo bait
  6. I haven't fished much in mid depth honestly... Maybe it was an off day... We have had some show interest by following.... But few actually hit... Or hit well enough to get hooks in I should say
  7. I've been using spinnerbaits... Jerk baits... Wacky rigs... In shallow water... But my results in mid depth with the same baits aren't great
  8. Hello all So I've been bitten by the bass bug... So now I have a new species to learn about... More specifically smallmouth bass... I've got onto a few shallow (under 5 feet deep) patterns... And I've done well deeper (12-30 feet deep)... But I don't have much game in the mid depth water... 5-12 feet deep... I was gunna turn to swimbaits on a hefty jig or some cranks maybe... But I was wondering what you guys like to use in these med depth situations... FYI... I fish clear water and in current most of the time... Thanks Mike
  9. 21 replies to a non report report... WOW Most "normal" reports don't get that much support from members.... Kinda funny
  10. Line twist is usually caused by the angler cranking the reel while the drag is slipping... Or a lure twisting the line... If your fishing properly you shouldn't get twist...
  11. That's my number 1... Lol I do that once a month... Lmao... I've forgotten the transom straps... And once my brother was pulling me out at a weigh in and didn't flip the switch on the winch... I have rollers... Rolled right off the back... Luckily I had a bit of water under the motor and was holing it straight... Skeg hit hard but no damage other then the underside of the skew getting scratched... Btw... This was my brand new yammy!!!! Everyone at the weigh in heard me yelling as I rolled off the trailer... Oh and I've done the plug a few times... That's no biggy... Lol
  12. Easy and cheap fix if it's just the switch... I did my honda a few years ago and it took a few minutes
  13. Let me know if your hitting the Larry.... Maybe we can fish...
  14. We still get em on cranks here... And they bite well too.... Just so many shad flies it'll drive most guys crazy...
  15. Thanks everyone... We would have had more weight but one of the walleye puked up an 8 inch perch with 20 minutes to weigh in... That was our biggest weight to date... Biggest weight anyone can remember in the spring tournament... And yeah... 112 carp made everyone happy... Our feet were sore from running up and down the rocky banks... And the most sleep I got all week was 6 hours... Lol And the father banked his 30lb+ fish literally last minute... We planned a 330pm pack up to get them to the train in time... Landed his 30+ at like 305pm... It was the perfect ending to the week...
  16. Well my "vacation" ends today... I've been off 12 days and fished 10 of them... My vacation started with our annual spring walleye classic tournament.... Me and my brother destroyed it this year... We weighed 20lb 9oz with 3 walleye.... 2nd place was 4lbs behind us and 3rd (my cousin) was another 4lbs behind 2nd... It was a great start to my vacation.... Next up was my new friends that came up from New Zealand for a week of carp fishing... 6 days straight of carpin on the St. Lawrence River... We had tough days but also had some great days... We ended up putting 112 carp on the bank and both the father and son got PBs breaking the 30lb mark... Mike
  17. Awesome fishing guys... I'm a couple days into 7 day stretch of carpin with some guys from New Zealand.... Love this warm weather....
  18. This is a new one... Didn't think there were many bears around here... Lol... http://www.thecornwalldaily.com/2014/05/27/7755/
  19. That's right The st lawrence has a small population of trout... So as long as I use shiny lures I can say I'm trout fishing.... Year round... And FYI... I've got a brown and a laker on a blue taildancer....
