Saw the same thing a few weeks ago... Guy pulled int a flock of Canadas... Talked on his cell for a few minutes... Then started blasting... Really sporty

Hey gang... I might have an open seat Friday for someone to come musky fishing... All you need is a true heavy duty musky casting outfit... I won't allow light gear in my boat... And some gas money (how much depends where we go)... And your lunch... I have tackle and trolling gear... My regular partner busted his reel Friday so he can't go... Let me know... I'm hoping someone I've chatted with over the years takes me up on this offer...

Nice haul if "whatever" trout Looks like a fun day

I'll have to try and find one... Rollie and Helens don't have any TE handles anymore... Anyone know where I can order one?
-
Yup Plan is the Calcutta as an all around reel and the abu 700 for big cranks... Big blades... Big rubber... Make the cheaper abu take the abuse...
-
Oh baby That looks nice Lew I have an abu 7000 with power handle for blades...

So I've got the musky casting bug really bad... And wouldn't you know it I'm doing well casting this year... My old quantum Cabo has been broken a while... And my Curado 300 just started acting up so I was in the market for a new musky reel... I'm hoping to get those 2 reels fixed bit i still wanted something new... Everything I've read says the Calcutta 400 TE was the best casting reel ever made... Of course you can't buy them anymore... Especially in a lefty... Wouldn't you know it my dad had a Calcutta 401 TE lefty in MINT condition sitting in the boathouse covered in spiderwebs... He said I could "borrow" it (wich usually means I can have it) cause he doesn't cast... I'm so pumped to try this reel out!!

When Muskie do get my lure (rare) you usually don't feel much... One took my hot n tot the other day and my rod tip barely bounced... Reeled up and it looked like scissors cut my line... No rough marks...

Am I asking too much here? Warranty issue NF

That's interesting Chrysler not backing the tires... That's like saying if the oil pump isn't made by Chrysler then take it up with the company that does make it when your engine blows... Chrysler should have pull with Goodyear considering they put them on their vehicles... And paying for the labour is Bull in my opinion... Those tires weren't safe for you to continue driving on... -
Are you fishing water with pike and musky? Lots of zebra mussels here and that almost never happens... I'd have to hammer my crank Into zebra infested rocks repeatedly to maybe break off... If mussels were the culprit your lead or line would be damaged near the break... Was it a clean cut or a rough cut?

I don't understand... Why not land then release the fish? I would think a fair amount are injured or killed like this...

Yes... Me very fall I wish I had them.... This seams like a great deal to get some cheap
-
Yup Still has the lexan protective film... I think we are gunna buy everything he has and resell...
-
Anyone ever make em...? I got a deal on 5x8 x1/4" Lexan for $15 per sheet... These are normally like $200 from what I can see... Guys got 16 sheets for sale.... So I was gunna make a few sets for me and my dad... I know an aluminium guy to maybe make brackets... And dad thinks he may have access to a hydraulic press to bend it... Seams simple enough... And cost would be next to nothing compared to the comercial guys... Biggest expense would be the aluminium brackets... Let me what you know and pics are very welcome... Mike

Looks like a fish fry to me... I know this will sound weird but I'm jealous... I have a hard time catching small tasty walleye like that... I can find them spring and fall but not in the summer... Looks like a beautiful lake too

Buddy just had his legend split open a few weeks back... On a positive note... it sounds like their customer service is good... They did a quick fix so he has a boat for the rest of the season then they're shipping it to be gutted and repaired properly this winter...

Hastings(Lock 18) Trent Severn vs Rice Lake
mike rousseau replied to Cloudy15's topic in General Discussion
I don't know the Trent but I night fish for walleye a lot on the St Lawrence River... Troll cranks in bright colors after dark... Weeds seem to be the best structure at night for some reason but I have found a few rocky spots that produce... Keep in mind not all spots are "night spots"... I have spots that are great during the day but terrible at night... Find weed edges... Turns... Points with the steepest drop offs to the deepest water you can find... The walleye hunker down in the deep Chanel's during the day and slide up the steep banks at dark... And fish AS SHALLOW AS YOU CAN!!!!! Don't be afraid of speed... 1.5mph minimum.... Some nights I'm pushing 3mph to trigger a bite... -
I know I keep saying it but man I gotta try jigging here on the st lawrence...

Looking For Weedy Pike Bays on the St. Lawrence River
mike rousseau replied to MrSimon's topic in General Discussion
I'm further east and pike here are becoming very rare... We think they lost too much spawning habitat now that all the tiled farm land has filled the creeks with mud... No more gravel beds... There are still pike of course but after June they're a tough go
