  1. I kinda am in a rush... Not cause I'm impatient but today is the first day of my fall fishing vacation... If I order locally I'm looking at getting the parts Wednesday or Thursday.... Not sure if these are the right Bearing 93306-001U1-00 Bearing 93317-22204-00 That's the number on boats.net site... I'm thinking they're just what're house stock numbers tho
  2. Until I get pricing from my local yamaha dealer for parts it's all I can find online... I'm going to the local dealer tomorrow... I can ship em to NY state fedex store and pick em up... 10 minute drive over the border
  3. To replace everything it's $167 US... That's the housing... Both bearings... Seals... I rings... And the 2 bolts... I've just never done anything like this... It sounds like I'm better of replacing everything... Any advice on installing the bearings and seals? I've heard you can use a socket to tap em in... One forum I read said to put locktight on the housing when installing
  4. Let's play a game where none of us talk about my original question and see how many posts we can get on this thread... I know your all trying to help in your own way... But... I just need to know if the seals and bearings can be removed from the broken housing and reused in the new housing I'm ordering tomorrow... This will cut my cost in half... Or do I need new seals and bearings as well... And if you've done this job are there any tricky tasks I will run into... Lol You guys crack me up sometimes...
  5. They said last time for warranty work they need to do a full investigation on the outboard... They even analyzed my oil... I'm gunna call them before I order parts in case I get lucky...
  6. To replace everything it's max $200 in parts... It would cost me that in gas making 2 round trips across the border to Clayton NY all I need to know is if I can reuse the bearings and seals and O rings and reduce that cost to $120
  7. Yes the power head was just replaced... And my lower unit seals as well... I've put over 100 hours on the motor since then... Definitely did not hit anything... I was in hard reverse and something slipped in the lower unit.. Maybe the clutch dog... When contact was made again it would have acted like a hammer pushing out against the housing... This is what I understand based on a conversation with a mechanic after describing what happened... And based on what I can see now that I have all the parts out and understand lower units a bit better... Might be my last yamaha I ever buy at this rate...
  8. Hello Anyone ever change a bearing housing/bearing carrier on a lower unit... Some aggressive reverse driving and a gear slipping or something like that managed to crack both the top and bottom of the housing... Great way to start my vacation... I'm wondering if the seals and bearings are reusable or should I replace all the parts in the housing... The seals were just done in August... If you've done this job before is there anything to watch out for? Seems simple enough... Especially if I replace all the bearings and seals at the same time... Just put all the new parts in the housing and mount it back on the prop shaft... Thanks Mike EDIT: I already took the housing out and the shaft etc... All the gears look great....
  9. It depends what your after... Not exactly a romantic scenery everywhere on the st lawrence river... And it's a very busy waterway... Ships going by every hour or so... I bet g bay is a really nice getaway... And nobody can argue there are giants there...
  10. It's not that I can't relate... That's not what I'm saying at all... I'm saying if I went that long on a water body without a fish I woulda quit and spent my time elsewhere... Irish is just way more patient then me... Example... The Ottawa river... Can't catch a fish there... Been up there 3 times for around 30-36 hours total.... No fish boated... I've had follows... I've had hits... I'm fishing the same structure as everyone else... Just can't seal the deal... The only reason I go is because it's a shollow water fishery with great casting opportunities... Now that I've done better casting on the st lawrence this year I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to the Ottawa...
  11. Apparently you can make far from birch bark... It was on a documentary I watched...
  12. We will se how the suit holds up in quinte this week...
  13. Well I spayed my floater suit with the woods brand spray for polyester... And I sprayed my boat cover with the same product but for canvas... After 24hr dry time I gave em both a spray with the hose and the water beaded right off... Don't know how long it will last but for $15 for a can I think it was worth it...
  14. A fellow tree planter eh... I planted in fort Francis/ Kenora area... And I agree... Watkins lotion was by far the best...
  15. Anyone ever spray a float suit to bring back some of the water resistant feature...? Mine is like a sponge and my cousin said there is a spray at Canadian tire that should help.... Any feedback is welcome
  16. Never fogged a 4 stroke before... Just stabilizer
  17. Ouch... At least pike would have entertained you a bit... Don't know how people can fish these slow fisheries... If I had to fish 2-3-4-5 days to get a fish I'd quit musky fishing... I'm dead serious... I hear these g bay and nip reports of week long trips with only a few bites for their efforts... I mean I have a day here and there without wetting my net but no way I could fish 60 hours for 1 bite... Even if every one was a 50 I still couldn't go 5-6 days of fishing for 1 bite... Hopefully you next trip has some more action
  18. Thanks for making the drive down again Pete... Great guy to spend a day in the boat with... To bad we couldn't run "the monstrosity" more... Lol... Looking foreword to the next lasagna lunch with you... I might just have 1-2 more musky days in me before I start hunting big fall walleye...
  19. Tons of em schooled up on the st lawrence... Easy to find... Never tried catching them tho....
