  1. Your boat looks identical to mine.... Even a 50 yammy tiller... Mines a 1998 Lund explorer 1600 with 2012 Yamaha 50hp 4 stroke tiller...
  2. For a 30hp it's a coin toss for me... If your gunna push the limits of what the motor can do then yes... If it's just going on a basic 14 foot tinner and you fish alone then it may not be worth it... I have a 50hp yammy tiller and most days I don't need my trim to be honest... Actually 9/10 days I don't need it... But if my boat is loaded heavy and it's choppy then I'll trim up to lift the bow a bit...
  3. I slaughtered mine last year... Gunna redo em soon
  4. Never seen a chain before... Very cool Way to figure em out
  5. Thanks everyone... Now I get to chirp up my buddies a bit cause they've got all the biggest walleye this year... They were chirpin me up then I did this... They shut up pretty quick and I got lippy... Lmao
  6. So I went night fishing after work tonight as the night bite has been amazing so far this season... We are catching plenty of fish and the night is going good... Then I get a bite and the fish is coming in easily... Them I feel a hard thump and everything got heavier... Now on the st lawrence river first thought is "a musky got my walleye".... But after a few seconds passed it didn't feel like a musky... Then I see something surface and I said "I musta hooked a walleye in the side" cause it looked like my lure was hanging off the side of the walleye... As it got closer I realized that the thump I felt moments into the fight was actually a second walleye hitting my lure... That's right I got a double header on a 2 hook crankbait and successfully landed them both... I've never seen that and I doubt I ever will again... This is a catch I'll never forget...
  7. Great deal Thanks for sharing
  8. I use these and like em http://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/products.php/keys/Plier/page/1/id/2277/name/SplitRingPliers512XuronBluegrip
  9. What I meant was the mono outfishes the braid in my experience when used equally... So my obvious choice when fishing alone is mono... I think there's a lot if confidence that helps... I get more bites running 2 rods
  10. I usually run 2 rods trolling 1 with 100lb braid 1 with 50lb mono big game If I'm alone running 1 rod I always go with the mono... For me it gets more bites...
  11. I could see the water saturation... The bottom inch or so at the back couple feet of the boat was saturated... That's good enough for me., I left it in I had to cut some foam for mods and it was bone dry...
  12. Jobs done I undead up staying with the pressure treated... I coated it in urithane and sprayed the boat with a rubber spray... So I guess time will tell if that was a good move or not... The pics I have don't have the seats in yet but I got them in yesterday... I was able to move the seats to a WAY better location... New tillers are longer then old... Now my tiller won't hit my seat... Evrything went very well and the results were better then expected.... Used vinyl and glue from cabelas... After glueing we wrapped the vinyl around 4-6 inches all the way around and stapled it underneath...
  13. Getting kinda frustrated here... Saved waypoints to an sd card Loaded into humminbird software Saved back to sd card 788 gives option to load data Select YES says no new Nav data found Tried the same on a 999 and loaded fine... Tried another 999 and fine... Even updated the 788 and everything For the life of me I can't understand what's wrong here,., I really don't want to enter 385 waypoints manually... Lol Please oh please can anyone help or can anyone suggest who to call other then humminbird... I'll be calling them asap
  14. Church are good for calm water but offshore are the best all around in my opinion
  15. I really wanna break 55" on a musky... Came close last year at 54.25" And I'd like to break my PB for carp at 36lb 12oz... That one has been lingering around for like 6 years... And always looking for that local 14lb Walter for my wall... I lost one meeting that criteria a few years ago and it still haunts my dreams... Gotta be local 14lb tho... Right now 12lb is my PB... Those goals have been going for a few years now New goal is finding crappie by boat... All the spots I know are from shore and I hate shore fishing with 20 other slobs fighting me for a spot... Also entering a pike tournament next weekend for the first time... Top 10 would be cool for that... And #1 on my list is winning the annual summer walleye tourny in Lancaster Ontario... I've been fishing it for like 10 years... Never won it... Got second place 3 years straight now... Missed by 1oz 2 summers ago... That hurt...
  16. Thanks everyone... Looks like lotsa options so far...
  17. Good day So my cousin is getting married and lives in Dacre Ontario just west of Renfrew.... This is around 3 hours from home so to help justify the trip I was thinking about taking my boat and making it a 2-3 day trip and get some fishing in... It's the last weekend of July... So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a lake or river close by where we might get into some decent fishing... I love walleye but bass, pike and maybe even trolling lakers would be fun too... If push comes to shove I can hit the Ottawa river as well... Like everyone says I'm not looking for secret spots... Lol... And PMs are welcome for privacy... I'd prefer to stay within an hour of Dacre Thanks everyone
  18. Welcome... I'm a good ways easy of you but I fish walleye and musky on the st lawrence... This river has lots to offer...
