  1. its usually a sacrificial part as well that will curode to protect the main motor from corrosion... it might have curoded right off... its the silver piece above the prop
  2. What lew said... Really easy... Loosen 1 bolt and adjust the fin till its running true...
  3. i have ceramic on my f150 and it breaks fine while towing
  4. its not advised to run over your spots full pin... but go around the area you will be fishing... when lines are in and your trolling... i dont think they are a spooky as some make them out to be... ive caught walleye trolling flatlines behind the boat in less then 5 feet of water...i have one spot i have to trim my motor up so i dont hit the rocks... and i catch walleye 50-60 feet behind the boat with floating rapalas... suspended walleye can be spooky because they arent hidden by cover that they feel will protect them... but walleye on rocks or in weeds dont seem to mind the motor...
  5. yup...they go at night with flashlights... a spear...and a cooler... they go right to the gravel bed that was paid for with fishing license dollars to help the walleye spawn better...but in the end it concentrated numbers making it easier to spear...
  6. thats what i thought as well... but it seems everyone walks on eggshells in fear of mass protests shutting down the local economy... last issue in my area was border officers(office was on reservation land) carrying firearms... the first nations people protested this and shut down the bridge rerouting thousands of vehicles through other border crossings...devastated local businesses for quite some time...couple months if i remember right... and cost TAXPAYERS loads of money due to the fact that they had to abandon the border office and build a new site off of the reservation... all because the criminals(the few giving others a bad wrap) running tobacco products across the bridge didnt want to get shot at...
  7. they fill coolers every night in my area spearing walleye... and thats their "right" i guess...unethical...i would say so... not all take advantage... one of my best friends is first nations... and hes disgusted by this practice... i have a question for those who know... are first nations allowed to spear spawning walleye off of their reservation areas...? cause where i live they spear a river that is way outside their reservations boundaries...but nobody does anything...mnr watches them do it all the time... and just so there is no confusion... im ok with first nations not having to follow the same seasons and catch limits as the rest of north america.... as ridiculous as that is...as long as its with a rod and hook... this whole spearing em while they are spawning is a disgusting practice and should be stopped...or at least a reasonable possession limit put in place...i understand this is how some get their fish for the year... but really....how many walleye can one family eat? i dont mean any offense to anybody...im just concerned about how much damage is done by this spearing every year....
  8. Really really depends on your water body and main forage... And opener is very different on a lot of water bodies.... I'd start with any rock/gravel structure you can find...Walleyes use these areas to spawn and lots of males stick around after the spawn... Also any rivers or tribs where walleye run up to spawn are good areas to start your search come opener... Most of the time you should be letting out 80-120 feet of line when flatline trolling.... I've found that 120 gives me my max depth... Any more is useless...a trick for knowing how much line is out is to count wraps as you let out... What I mean is you count how many times your line goes left-right-left-right... On your spool as your letting out... If you get a fish at 10 wraps then at least you can try to repeat what you did... As for speed... Slower in colder water... Over time you'll know by experience how far back to cast before you troll...how deep each lure goes at that cast length... What lure dives to the right depth for each spot... And like Roy said... You don't need a lot of lures... from opener to ice up I pretty much use 3 crankbaits...if I can't catch on those 3(wich is incredably rare) the rest of my box usually can't get a bite either...and I have about 100 crankbaits in my box...
  9. CARPIN.... Heading out for carp again Sunday... Hoping to get a piggy for the ofc tourney... Buddy is pre baiting tomorrow...so they should be all over my spot Sunday morning... Got room for 1 more guy Roy... Even some fancy European carp chairs for ya to sit in... So comfty you might have a little siesta between fish...
  10. Where is your zipper leaking? I'm a sit down troller and haven't had this problem with my cabelas guidewear I bought last year...
  11. I love my cabelas guidewear.... I've been out In some of the nastiest weather fishable and was bone dry(except my face...the only exposed skin...) I does not have a "removable" liner option.... But I layer up underneath the the suit and do just fine... I have non insulated and wore it most of the winter ice fishing....as well as some winter days in the boat...you just need good layers underneath...
  12. I once heard a great explanation to why a statement like this is wrong... First of all... As individuals...they are good enough for the NHL...so to say they suck is incorrect... Second...as a team...they made the playoffs...so to say they suck is incorrect... Third...there are huge numbers of sens fans that would disagree with that statement... It's fair to say that you don't like them for personal reasons... But to say they suck is just plain untrue... Side note... My buddy Jesse Winchester is back from his 3 months off due to injurie and playing great... Go Sens!!!!
  13. I'd be more concerned about the pattern your starting to uncover...
  14. I think the general idea is to change locations and or lures once you get oos fish... One musky by accident is nothing to get upset about... When I fish walleye in the spring we get musky... We know every so often a musky will hit... Maybe every 3-4trips out we get one... They are there to feed on the walleye... Same with spring pike fishing... Always seem to find some bass mixed in that have the feed bag on... Use your own judgement... Really...what are the odds... It's the first time youve got a musky ever on that lure... It's not your fault the musky didn't know you were fishing pike that day...lol I got a 4lb smallie in a swampy back bay last week on a 2 inch plastic minnow/jig while float fishing for perch... It was an epic battle on light gear and it was sooooo fun...what are the odds? I couldn't find a smallie in that area if my life depended on it...
  15. what type of fishing do you do most of the time? troll? cast? jig? drift? cause that makes a huge difference... i troll most of the time so i spent little money on bow mount options... i got a 55lb thrust bow mount cable drive and a 150-200 dollar sonar on the bow... the sonar works just fine...marks a jig in 80 feet of water... just doesnt have any bells and whistles and its black and white...humminbird 535... an electric motor for trolling is ok if you have plenty of battery power for the length of time you plan on trolling...and its ok if you troll for extended periods of time... me... my spots i troll are very small and i would be restarting my main motor 50+times a day... that cant be good for the starter or the starting battery...id kill my starter battery in no time... if you like to jig/cast/drift most of the time id get a good sonar for the front and put a cheaper unit in the back...and get a good bow mount electric motor with more then enough power... for those windy days ar fishing current... i have a transom mount trolling motor and almost never use it...but some must use em or they wouldnt sell em...
  16. not sure what my 40 honda is in mpg numbers... if i drive straight from one side of my milk run to the other and back its 30 miles and 2+ miles across... and then add all the back and forth driving at each spot and trolling miles... a FULL day...10+hours...covering every section of that area... is usually 30 bucks...
  17. my math says you saved $19.84... i get 150 liters give or take at $4.05 or $1.06 a liter on the rez here right now...so...$159.00... in ontario its $1.36 a liter...so...$204.00... thats $45 in savings...minus 5 for bridge toll... so $40 savings for a 30 minute trip across the border... like 5km each way... tops...
  18. funny how they can taste so different in different areas...
  19. ah...ok... i was curios because i was reading about the kawanis(sp) tourney and wondering what the heck could draw/support a tournament with 5000+ people in it...
  20. is the fishing very good in the spring? like here we get lots of fish in the spring but all 2-3 pounds mostly...but 10-20+ a day... i was wondering if the big girls still get caught fairly regular in the spring? or do you get really high numbers of smaller fish like us...?
  21. on flats? on structure? suspended or on the bottom? i heard eirie deiries(sp?) work well up there in the spring i cant seem to find anything online about spring walleye in quinte
