Balsam Lake is in grave danger because of the slot. In the 1st place Balsam never needed a slot. Before the slot you could catch every size walleye from 10 inchs to 9 lbs and lot's The danger is all the gaint walleye are gone. They hit that over slot and they are harvsted and the gaints have got smaller and smaller. Now a gaint is 6 lb they will be gone in a few years. And then the clock starts ticking 3-4 bad spawns and it will be un recoverable. Even today if Balsam was changed to the Kawratha Lakes slot the lake would be hammered until it crashed.

I've drove both Z521 and the Z520 in big stuff. The Z521 is a little better the Z520 way way more fun to drive. 189 Stratos will be just OK on Simcoe. You will really need to get it prop right. I'm in a 201 Stratos regular nice boat. You can kid yourself into a 80 trolling motor. As stated in 2 years you will have a 36volt. Again it's all setup, you can make a Z521 junk with the wrong prop and wrong motor high.

I've been in 100's of bass boats. It's all in the setup. You can jack them up prop them out and get that 74mph. Then you go to Simcoe and get hammered. Fury props are a nice for speed and rough water. So rough water you want the boat to stay on plane at very slow speeds 18mph-20mph then if you step on it needs to go. No prop blow out. I've been in 3 Z9's and 1 Z8. Never really rough water but the 9 is definetly better. Just has more hull. And don't believe you can still run wide open in 5'6'7'8 fters. Well you can and you will break ever thing on your boat including yourself.

Finally a good use for the phone book. Take 2 piece of computer paper and run thread between them. Start about the middle of the phone book and keep adjusting until you get right tension,
-
Right on top of guide. Cut with exacto knife. Just 1 thread. Now un ravel.

To late but yes they were open.

They do hit the wall, jump up on the apron and flop around. It's a site. They jump in and out of the fish ladder until the temp (just a little over 42f) is right and they will be gone in couple hrs.

Does a speeding ticket in Pennsylvania effect us here

I got a speeding ticket 500 ft from the Ivy Lea border NY side. So the cop takes my info and tells me the ticket will be mailed to me. Cost of speeding $75 cost of admistration $85. -

I left at 5:30 and theirs a guy fishing under the bridge. It's a double deal fish and game charges are federal offences so getting bonded will be a problem. -

I didn't say it was smart, she was not paying. Like me it's very unlikely I will be back in CT same with Green Bay Wisconson I got a launch ramp parking ticket for $8. Not display correctly. It was on sunvisor not the dash. You guessed it, I didn't pay. -

It's a state by state deal. If Canada has agreement with the state they share information. Surpising that all border states have agreement and most for popular routes to Florida. I was fishing a Team Ontario Tournament in Conneticat a couple years ago and 1 of the people got a ticket but Canada doesn't have agreement so they wern't going to pay it. -
It's just not true that every salmon is gutted for the roe and dicarded. You can go to the fish cleaning station just about any time and see people clean and packaging steaks and fillets. Likely more are clean and taken home.
-
There was a guy charged on Bowmanville Creek last fall with more than allowed salmon roe.
-
As always theirs the law about wasting fish. On the books for years, it just needs to be enforced. So we will make a by law to ban natural roe and send a by law officer down to the river to work under cover. Just another well thought out plan. The guy with a gun can't get the job done so we will send the parking ticket cop.
-
Think we need to get back to op and why town council thinks it would be good to band natural roe in favour of hatchery roe. Theirs is a couple fish farms north of town that would like more sales. Are these people on town council.
-
Most likely the town looking at the $ to maintain the fish cleaning station. When the salmon run the river the town guys are making 2-3 trips a day . Like every town they only see cost, they never look at benfits. That's why it so important when you are buy services in Port Hope or any town you are fishing that you are here for the fishing.

Or just relocate 1battery to a front locker. Only thing better than a 12v is a 24v and only thing better than a 24v is 36v. been waiting for a 48v.

Most ceramic issues are from bending guides back. Not a warranty issue for me. I would have to take the rod back to a factory rep and explain how it wasn't abuse. I also didn't want newer rods replace older stlyes. Often manufacters will change the handle on the new model. I buy sets of 4 so they are all the same.
-
When I was ordering new rods and reels they all came at 1 time. So maybe 30 rods reels the only returns I would do is a dog leg or the guides so far off spline the blank twist. Most of the other defects bent guides not perectly straight I would add 2 dozen more in the first season. Things like ceramic popes out of a middle guide. Side cutters, cut foot off, cut guide in half and back to fishing. I wouldn't even repair them until all 4 rods had a lease 1 guide missing. They just moved to practice rods. I never repaired my self in tournament season.
-
Like you I came from a custom built Steelhead rods to walleye and bass. Like you my first set of sticks bass/walleye all custom built by me for tournament fishing. My first point is tourmament fishing is just way to hard on custom built for me. To just drop one grab another kick it out of the way, throw it back between consoles. I just couldn't do it. By the time I started winning tournaments I'd worked my way down from high end factory rods to factory rods under $100. Nobody is more fussy about the correct action than me. I also don't care what anybody else thinks I know what works for me. About every 7-8 years I just get rid of all rods and reels. Particulary reels. I buy rods in sets of 4 all exactly the same model 2 different spinning 4 different casting models. I too went thru the quality issues of rack rods and learned most are off minor importants.

Worked at shows for a very long time. A certain amount of people go just to have a bad time. They are proving how great their angling abilitys are, want to argue, just generaly say stupid. The other 99% just out for a good time.
