  2. Thats the one i was thinking about Spiel MJL- SHOW OFF!
  3. is it a bust to take your child fishing and not catch anything??? re-evaluate your fishing experiences with your family....fish are just a bonus and not an expectation As stated its hit and miss ...if your there and its on you could be in for the time of your life...if its not on....youll have made some great memories...i understand the need to be a super hero in your childs eyes...but being a realist...fishing is called fishing... not catching Good Luck if you decide to go...either way ...youll end up being a super hero in your childs eyes Cheers
  4. Awesome report Chris...i dont know how missed this too...been to busy i guess...hope you have better luck witht he Gar than i have.... Nice shootin!!!! and awesome pics...
  5. thats the way its supposed to be ....good to know chivalry is still alive and well....
  6. The Okuma will serve you well until you hold a higher end unit in your hands...then and only then...will you notice the difference...one of the bonuses to holding an Okuma in your hands for 14 or 15 hours a day is ...they are nice and light ...and the start up is decent for the price you pay....enjoy ...youll love this technique and it just so happens ...Phil from etackle is an awesome guy to deal with and he carries almost EVERYTHING for float fishing... A hammer is a hammer as a reel is a reel....they are all tools and some are just a bit more comfy to use then others... Cheers!
  7. ok ill play along I think MJL has a kewl shot of a steelie jumping on the end of a line....
  8. Thanks jedimaster...you have been Quoted on my facebook page with the exception of "TV Dinner" After all KRAFT DINNER is Candiana at its best too
  9. I can remember the one and ONLY sturgeon i have caught in my life like it was yesterday ...its a long story but heres the short....1983 South Saskatchewan river within Regina city limits 49 inches 10# test one mangled fishing net and almost one completely severed finger.... Congrates to your son Terrence...incidental or not ...its a fish of a lifetime if you dont live near them
  10. I wonder what you could have caught if you used the finger as bait...
  11. Props to them for creativity....only people that are secure with who they are can pull that off..... And i thought i had a twisted sense of humour
  12. Welcome back Dana ...i kinda missed your perception on stuff....nice pike...too bad you were skunked or were you?
  13. rootbeer hurts through the nose...just sayin
  14. Cool but make sure its turned off when posting pictures online especially if your selling something on the classified sites thieves these days are high tech
  15. I think i would be more comfortable saying i got skunked as opposed to saying i got dinked...well i wouldnt talk about it anyways and go with the skunk if i had to choose
  16. Do you really have to catch fish of any species to be skunked? I get the same satisfaction out of any day fishing whether there is fish involved or not....so i guess i never get skunked
  17. http://www.flyfishohio.com/Vise%20Review%201/so_many_vises_$50-$100.htm http://www.flyfishohio.com/Vise%20Review%201/so_many_vises_$100-$150.htm Vises are tools ...a hammer is a hammer if it says Fisher Price on it or Estwing....but some are easier to work with...just saying the cheap vises are for introduction to the craft...they serve a purpose...but once youve decided your into it ...you will end up dedicating a custom area in your home to accommodate a comfy tying session ... Good Luck Chris
  18. I agree B... our area is PRO fishing largely to do with the Lake Huron Fishing Club, Ontario Steelheaders and the support of the community...These positive activities ripple ten fold through out the community by keeping young kids minds occupied and educated Richard has taken it a step further by introducing interest and education right into our classrooms with his micro hatcheries. All along the Huron Coast the response seems to be nothing but positive.Personally i think EVERY coastal community in Ontario could learn alot from this area. Embrace and respect the resource and nothing bad can become of that.
  19. Hopefully Ron veiws this thread to arm him with more ammunition when he is dealing with the Port Cobourg battle...every step in the right direction to get kids outdoors in a positive environment is a great thing.... Here is where the kids can use the equipment in Port Elgin (note... in the Marina) The Kids Fishing Dock:
  20. Name of Boat should be "No More Disposable Income" or "Disposed Income" or "Bling N Blonde" or since youll be spending alot of time on it "The Other Woman" i could go on and on and on ... Congrates man! not a bad boat either
  21. i say we should pierce his nipples with 2/0 barbed treble hooks and drill holes in the bottom of his boat....well you asked Hey Skipper....send my best to Mary Anne and Gilligan
  22. i agree Roy but from what i was witnessing i think the white ones should be shot too....i sat watching them pull crayfish ( no big deal) but rainbow smolts???...i was unaware that seagulls could do such a thing actually dive underwater and come up with fish...in the photo its a sucker but every now and again they were small bows....it cant rain fast enough or hard enough right now... Thanks for the compliments guys
  23. For all of us that dont know you personally...give yourself a well deserved pat on the back because there isnt an icon for that
