hmmmmmmmmmm....i wonder if they make masks that can be tanned through ...it would be terrible to come back having a white face patch from your mask... As i said before ...due dilligence weather that means not going at all or taking personal protection devices.... Mexico - killer spores in the air ...hepatitis in the water and god forbid you were to eat a baracuda.... why go ??? because ya can and its there ...why climb mount everest where there is harldy any oxygen and the mortality rate per capita exceeds the swine flu.....( i suppose i should say) ....as of yet Heres my take on it ...if there is an epidemic in Mexico.....its only there to keep the Americans from going over the border to battle the drug cartels..... just my 02 cents ...but i would still go ....

I have more then him ...but i store mine on the bottom of various rivers.....honestly ....sweeeeeeeeeet collection....

Fudd ....you are very wise ....
-
when it comes to health and safety ...it is always wise to stay due dilegent but ....yeah there is a but ...how many people actually died from the bird flu or sars ???? the last outbreak of the swine in 76 took only one life as opposed to in the 1800s when it wiped out half a million people......i wouldnt cancel my trip if i was going ...but i would be extra attentative to common areas and carry a good sanitizer...( and use it )

The fish are very late this year on huron....only one out of ten hens caught are loose ....the rest are still tight ...having said that ....re think your presentation and what you are using for bait....meaning ...the fish are agressive from the lake right now...so they are in predator mode as of yet.....
-
i think everyone is discussion the issue now....two cases in Canada...and both are linked to Mexico.....regardless of the extra precautions you take ....do you think the people of mexico are taking the same precautions while cooking your food or carrying your luggage...chances are unlikely you catch it ...so have a good time bring a hand sanitizer with you especially in public rest rooms ...even if you wash your hands ...there are hundreds that dont seem to have the time to ...and they exit through the same door knob as you ...

Burp in the mic ????? LMAO i didnt see that one comming ... Make sure you read the terms of the auction...if you bid a dollar ...that may translate into a buck twenty plus GST...the auctioneers have to make their two points on the dollar.... auctions are fun .....kinda like fishing for treasures ....if it is your intentions to burp in the mic...PLEASE bring a video cam with you ...lmao

double sided barrel is what i use and have never been broken off at the knot before ...but if your worried about it ...you can do the improved clinch double sided ( same as the barrel but the tail comes back up into the top loop ) ive lost too many fish trusting the courtland shrink wrap so i dont ever bother with it anymore something about heating up a fishing line doesnt make sence to me

It only being a 9.9 ( unless its changed) i dont think you have to have one ...but for the sake of safety ...its good to have....youll need a paddle on board and floatable rope if one wasnt supplied in your little kit make sure batteries are installed into the floatable flashlight because it costs 110 bucks for this infraction...trust me ....make sure navagation lights are operational or in place welcome to the demise of your savings account.lol.... worth every penny -
Couldnt have said it any better than Uncle Buck I have both and very seldom turn on the handheld because of the battery consumption...6 batteries per day for listening ...if you use it to transmit double the consumption

Almost directly west of the boat launch....there is a marshy area with still water ...at the mouth of where it joins the main body the depth used to be about two feet and drop off to 6 or 7 feet ...along that shelf used to hold jacks that were easy pickins for a shad rap...its been a few years since i fished there because my son is older and can handle larger bodies of water and the motions that go with big water

Luke ...the wet side of the Wildwood Lake (near St Marys) where there is a back swamp has always turned good pike for me ....under the bridge at the southside of the lake i seen an old man catch a 30 pounder. his pic is probably still posted up by the boat launch ...fantastic spot for a canoe or small craft....the fishing should be great without the pressure of the water skiers this time of year...rattlin raps and ripplin reds always worked good for me Good Luck ps i did catch a rubber boot there once Welcome to the Forum

There is a reason they call it cardiac hill...it IS tough going down ...and even tougher comming back up...especially with your long rod and carrying a fish ...but for the most part ...it is a great hole ...and because it is hard to get back up ...anyone out of shape isnt going to bother to try it ..and the ones in good health are going to think twice about carrying fish back up....hence ...catch and release... i agree there maybe tooo many lurkers just looking for this kind of information and I will reframe from future hospitality as given here on this location because not all fisherman have the ethics i ( or you ) have for leaving the areas in the conditions we find them in...yes i pick up garbage off the shores all the time but have NEVER had the need to down there...i can only hope .....the fisherman that do use this location ....will respect the area as i have...a mile or so up the river are some wonderful pools as well...but because of reckless behaviours the property owners have no longer granted acess .... I always need to be reminded that not everyone is like me or the guys i fish with ...but when i read Wildwood and Bayfield ....i was just tryin to help out... To those that use the holes on a regular basis...i appoligize ...maybe we should draw an imaginary line between the lakes ... I did give this location but i didnt put the fish on your hooks...thats up to you ...be sure to leave some tourist dollars in the area ....its been a few years but the all you can eat brunchs at the Bayfield Harbour used to be second to none... GOOD PEOPLE WELCOME.....BAD PEOPLE NOT NEEDED

Missing boater on Georgian Bay/Penetang Harbour
Twocoda replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
not to add to an already bad thread...but between sauble and southampton ...another man missing in a canoe with a dog on monday....the search was called off as of today ....let this be a reminder for everyone to take the time to ensure all safety equipment and communications are in place for a safe arrival after a day on the water.... -
Are you guys saying you wouldnt share info with another fellow OFNer ??? lol....trust me ...if i still used this spot on a regular basis i would have to know ya personally before i gave a treasure hole like this away.... .....consider this a perk for being a member of this forum....good luck and tight lines

Im going to give you a great bayfeild location..( from 21 turn east on 3 then turn north to go into Wildwood camp))..just before you turn into Wildwood Camp....you will see a small parking spot on top of the hill...park there ....go down the hill to the river ...( cardiac hill ...named appropriatly) once down head downstream for roughly 200 yards ...very nice pools and should be loaded with bows...i have fished this area for many years...always with great success...the hill is a deterant for most fisherman and cutting through the camp is forbidden ....this is a very rocky area ...keep your eyes peeled and walk quietly enjoy!!!!!!!!!!! ....and your welcome in advance
