  1. This is good canadian humour.....someone send this link to Gary Gutfield from Fox Red Eye...
  2. well if i had a rapala with water in it ...that would be a new one for me ...cuz i own at least 100 that are surrounded by water for eternity...i wonder if rap rep would care to take my complaint ...lol... Simply buy some cod liver oil and dip your lures in it after use ...... the reason i say cod liver oil is ...it doesnt hurt to use it prior to use of the lure either. ...
  3. Dont over look the arts and crafts stores ...like "micheals" and whatever "white rose" turned into ...you cant beat the prices on peacock herl, chenille etc.....but dont tell them you use it for fishing or they will jack the prices up once they are hip to the trip...good luck....
  4. if the paint that doesnt come off with the pressure washer by sanding it you will remove all that is going to come ...and score the edges...sealing it with DP 40 will create a new canvass for the top coat ( Imagine bondo feathered on a peice of steel ) the same applies to the old paint
  5. pressure wash the loose paint ...scuff the rest with 220 grit sandpaper ...coat with DP 40 Epoxy primer ....then recoat... if its your intention to leave it natural ....soda blast the hull ...
  6. honestly ...i know this is against the grain but .......ill take Penn....the boy is on a mission not to be dnied...GSP better have his best game plan in effect....the only way GSP is going to possibly win is if Penn Gasses out...and i dont think that is going to happen.... Having said that ...i am canadian and my heart wants GSP to win ...but my head says Penn split decision ( that is correct ...i do believe his cardio will go the distance Regardless it is going to be a great fight
  7. i didnt know there was an affliction fight on tonight ...arlovski is going to get pounded ....sheko is a force/ freak of nature Thanks for posting that info!!!!!!!!!
  8. i wonder if they are refering to mooching reels with the clutches....when the time comes my rigging reels go down ...ill be replacing with them ....nothing says fun like fighting a salmon with a mooch.....imo center pins were never meant to be easy ...its all about the presentation that you are capable of achieving Intresting article though ...
  9. i just retired my StreamRunner last year served me 15 years .....picked up a Sheffield at a moderate price 250ish...honestly i dont have ANY complaints works great in cold and start up is instant...the only reason i retired the StreamRunner was this particular reel had a leather crest on the backside of it and it was beginning to peel off from years of weathering ...great unit though ... The price of the reel does NOT make a fisherman !!!!....although so many Boe Boes seem to think so ...i would suggest you borrow or buy moderate to see if you even like the technique ( it isnt for everyone) but once you have mastered pins youll love it !!! Good luck on your choice i wish i had a video for every new fishermans first hook up on a pin....can be some pretty funny footage...
  10. in the river...There we go!!!!!followed with a Fish On !!! On the boat...WAKE UP!!!!!!! FISH ON !!! ( sometimes i use the boat one even if there isnt a fish on ....just for fun ....it amuses me to see people wake from a dead sleep and try to get to a rod
  11. Personally 1 i think this post should hit the forum every year ( hats off to smalliefisher for posting ) even if some that have been here for many years dont approve 2 Thanks GDC for not approving.... Although I'm new to this Forum i can see how reading the same thing year in and year out can get a bit monotonous with out the total solution ever being achieved but by debating the issue as you gentlemen have been ......it IS drawing attention from other members ( new and old) with a dramatic twist to it ( which is a good thing) cuz possibly ....when a party is sitting in their hut and the fishing is slow ...the drama of this thread might be brought up in conversation after BillyRayJayBob chucks his beer can down a hole after butting his last cigarette out in a tim hortons cup....it just may hit someone's sub-conscience in that party to do the right thing...we can only hope ......so i say ...debate the issue well into may so the weekend warriors that come up here for rainbow opener might be a little wiser with their litter.... The biggest thing i picked up was 13 miles out off the Bruce power plant .....an 8 foot PT fence post with 20 yards of high tensile wire fence still attached...it wasnt easy to get on my boat by myself but i did it ......imagine hitting that with a boat at any speed in the dark ...waaaaay out there !!!! The frog pic was ruined because of the litter Just my 2 cents (CAD)
  12. haven't been in a few years but Port Bruce on Erie turns out some great size yellow perch ...heavy one pounders galore....i bet the 2.25 came from there... back then there weren't bows in the lake like they are in there now ...and the eyes were far and few between.....
  13. Exactly what i was thinking .....
  14. it would have been cheaper to get a dog ... seriously now ...Congradulations!!! for the addition ....10 fingers... 10 toes ...two eyes.. and a nose....seems all the equipment is there ... Dave is an awsome name...if you were looking for suggestions...lol... opps i see Ryan Micheal already has a name...
  15. 2 amp is the max you will get out of a 2 amp setting ...it doesnt nessasrily mean there is a true 2 amps delivered at all times...i agree ...i get nervous when batteries are on for too long ....if the battery was completly dead .....48 hours should do ya ...if it is not completly dead ...24 hours on trickle is sufficient...any battery that needs to be charged for two weeks is called recycle.....
  16. if time isnt a factor to when you need to use the battery.....put it on trickle charge ( 2 A ) setting and charge it slowly...but if you need th battery right away ..throw it on 10 A and your good to go in about an hour or so ....its much better to slow charge the battry then to power charge it ...
  17. i have eaten a 5 pound rainbow and 8 pound salmon from Lake Ontario.....but for the most part....its a lake you love to practice catch and release....( mostly cuz the fish can be huge and arent that tasty ) regardless of the lake they come from ...refer to the fish consumption guide..
  18. open up power director in the cyberlink....i would love to help you right through this ....but i getting a bit tipsy ....sorry...
  19. i wonder if it had a ladder with a roof excape hatch ...just incase it went through the ice....or better yet....a floatation "belt" to keep it from sinking if it did break through ....watching that video was like watching caskets warp at a funeral parlor....wonder how it handles rough terrain... just my 02 cents cool consept though
  20. The rainbow recipe is now extracted from my wife....( you all owe me for what i had to go through )...actually every time is the best 5 minutes of my life...he he ( yes im refering to taking out the garbage) ha ha 6 litres of water enough course pickling salt to float a raw egg ( aprox 2 cups) 6 cloves of finely chopped fresh garlic 1/2 tsp of dried thymne 1/2 tsp of dried rosemary 3 bay leaves (crushed) Juice of one fresh lemon ( squeeze the heck out of it ) 1/2 tsp Club house salmon seasoning Stir it all together and add Rainbow trout Let sit in brine for at least 12 hours ( We always do 20 hours ) Pat excess moisture off when prior to smoking ( important !!!!) Your smoker may vary from mine but i smoked for 13 hours in my cold smoker Put one thin coat of Hoisin Sauce on after 6 hours into the smoke and the finished product looks like this .... This is my favourite smoke of all time ....and ive tried hundreds... hope you enjoy it too
  21. The first time i made bread ( before bread machines ) they came out like bricks ...litrally hard as rocks... could have bricked a house ...so ...on goes a coat of shellac and they were donated to a theatre group for staging props... good on ya for getting it right ...
  22. thats why the sport isnt called " catching" better luck next time ...camera guy should have kept the camera on your face to see the expression when it went "gone"
