Every Christmas for us it is tradition to have lobster with our turkey and on New Years to have smoked fish ...i just finished a batch of salmon for tomorrow nights festivities and now putting on some rainbow trout..... Honey-Cured Smoked Salmon 1 quart water 1/2 cup salt 3/4 cup honey 1/4 cup golden rum 1/4 cup lemon juice 10 cloves 10 allspice berries 1 bay leaf 1 large fillet of salmon its a first time for this one ( ill let ya know how it is ) smoked it for 12 hours due to some thick piecs in hickory) like anything ...everyone has a favourite... the rainbows are just on now an as soon as the wife tells me what is in the brine ill pass it along ...all i know at this point is .....its being smoked with mesquite...having tried tested and true ...this stuff is EXCELLENT!!! ( sometimes having the wife smoke fish isnt too convenient when its time to share the recipe).....catch 22 im calling it ...lol... SO ....whats YOUR favourite brine that is tried tested and true .....???????

misfish???? does it have anything to do with losing fish ??? i had a bad stretch this fall where i lost 9 salmon in a row which is unheard of for me .....normally if i get the hook set ...the fish is done for.... oh btw ...i blame the equipment for those 9 fish ...lol...didnt help that Jupiter was in line with Marz either ....and the man on the moon was on holidays with the fish gods......and ......

at one point we had sooooo many pics in frames we ran out of mantle space ...so we started a" Fishing Wall of Fame" which eventually lead to "The Fishing Wall of Shame" because the facial expressions on the face of a child says millions when they lose a good fish ( and helps back up thier story of the "big one that got away"...lol...

Although reports were not favourable for the credit ...im sure there are bows in there ...ill tell ya where to go .....go right into Missisauga Erim Mills Park ....walk up river till you come to the rock baskets...( river is narrow there and makes a sharp turn ) fish down from the sharp turn ....really nice pool and if you havent crossed the main river and still on the side of the gracel path ...stand on the rock baskets ( meidum size rocks in wire mesh)and just fish ...there is no need to cast very far as the bows will more then likely be tight to the baskets....i have literally caught HUNDREDS of fish in this pool...but havent fished it in several years ....great salmon and bows.... down at the mouth of the credit is a good spot as well ......fish will be fresh out of the lake ( either side of the river is great under the walkover bridge) good luck ....if ya do go ....bring worms ....real and pink

See this is why i ask ....i was thinking Beats was a call name for a disc jockey that liked to fish ...
-
i see on the forum that many people have unique call names or abreviations....other then the self explanitory ones ...i was just wondering on what the meanings behind the names ...for instance ...my call name is Twocoda Now the breakdown: Two = the number of sons i have Co = Cody and Colin ( yes i named them purposly for this and they cant fight over whos letters are first) Da = Dad , Dave or just Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Hence : TWOCODA Twocoda is the name of my Boat and the name of my fishing Team when we are in derbys.....( Should we win anything the individule that catchs the prize fish gets the GLORY but has to give a shout out to the others...
-
