Anyone use a Fenwick HMX Triggerstik Muskie rod??
Twocoda replied to freshjive's topic in General Discussion
ive had/have a fenwick hmx 10.5' that i use as a spinning set up for the last 6 years .... the first one literally blew up and the replacement rod is indestructible ..... ...would i buy another if this one eventually breaks?....sure the price point is good ...the rod is really light and im completely satisfied with its performance... my fenwick fly rod exploded at the handle but i had a new seat put on and ...no probs thus far (insert knock on wood icon) -
way to represent Ron hats of to ya ... The only thing "special" about Rice Lake is its Tourist Association's ability to hinder what they are supposed to represent....

not 5 trout...you can have a combination of 5 fish ...5 can be salmon ... if you catch 2 trout only three can be salmon...you cant catch 5 trout you can only catch 2 hence the reason most boaters put lakers back in and keep on fishing for chrome be it a salmon or a rainbow...this is kind of interesting because technically a rainbow is a salmon but rainbow in our Zone is only two

im going to keep checking back to this thread to see if anyone (female) catches one and actually posts pics...

im going to throw this out there Vinni have you considered the gimble bearing in the lower end??? if your running good at idle and under load in the driveway with no resistence then once in the water the prop resisnce to the water might be just enough to throw a failing gimble bearing out to cause probs...im not a mechanic but have had this happen to my boat

there was panic by the thousands when the bows went from 5 to 2 but eventually everyone settled down and the fishery is outstanding now due to the limit...!!!!!!!! Solo,Bill and others seem to be ambassadors of truth to this Personally i dont ever want to see it at 5 again ....its just greedy/shameful/ and a waste of resource to keep that much fish in the freezer

Laz if your side casting you might find it easier to back cast as opposed to forhand cast...if your practising ...load up your line with shot to make it easier to get the feel of it ....then you can lighten up the line as you get the hang of it ... i personally use the spinning sidecast in backhand ...line twist isnt too much of an issue and on the rare occurrence it does happen ....do a really loooooooong drift and it will correct itself...make sure your tag ends are nipoped off short as they act like props in the water creating twist regardless of the cast Bills method is effective as well but you leave yourself with another vulnerability joint to break off
