if the bottom of lake X is soft try literally dragging your canon balls on there ( its a "hail mary" method for bending a rod for a laker)....lengthen your leads off the ball outrageously long 60+' so your bait is in the cloud the ball creates...keep your speed 1.5 to 1.9 mph Good Luck dont forget to run your cheater/slider...

Kewl Brandon ...we were about 15 miles out on lake Huron ( Kincardine) and the Sarnia coast gaurd called for extreme weather system to move through western lake erie...Nothing happened up our way... nice shooting ...should try to compile a whole season of thunderstorms from the same spot (might be hard to do since you move around quite a bit)...and then put it to some kewl music ( AC/DC Thunderstruck ?)

they used to stock bows in there as well....not sure if they still do or even have the trout derby there anymore...as stated the sea doo pressure ripping around that lake is extreme pushing the fish to the bottom ( makes it for tough fishing) i have caught pics bows pike and bass in there ...but i was sworn off of ever going back...I agree with Dan...waste of time and not worth the drive....if your looking for a quiet lake and not as far north you might want to try Wildwood just west of Elginfield...same species less the bows
