  1. There is your problem, you should have used some of that for bait, I'd bite even if I knew there was a hook hidden in it
  2. Idiots are easy to spot, they usually run around shouting "I am an Idiot"! (or words to that effect)
  3. Well then according to your theory you have some pretty dumb friends and you aren't too smart yourself! This guy wasn't out there "racing around just for the heck of it", he got disoriented in a snow squal, (been there, you think you are going one way and it just isn't so). I could have gone through the ice here the other day yet I went where sleds and bikes have been going for two weeks now, just plain luck that I missed the one area where the ice wasn't fully formed but anyone following my tracks and going just 50' off to the side could have been in trouble. None of these people go out there thinking they are going to get into trouble but sometimes bad things happen to good people through no fault of their own. My heart goes out to the ones that are left behind.
  4. It can happen in a heart beat! I was out here on the lake the other day, there have been sleds and ATVs running back and forth for two weeks now and there was a good solid 6-8+" of ice even over the chanel in front of our place. I took a little ride to where there were some guys were fishing huts and all. When I stopped to talk with them and asked how thick the ice was I was told a good 5" where I was but only about 2" less than 50' away. I followed my tracks right back to shore and parked the bike.
  5. John, if he is in our neck of the woods we might be able to help with accomidations and local transportation, anything within a couple of hours drive from here is doable.
  6. OK, one thing at a time; where is he in Ontario?
  7. Very nice work!
  8. Thanks gang, I sort of suspected it but thought I'd ask. Thanks for the offer Geoff but I have to work tomorrow. This thing is running fine, just saw all their hype and thought I'd ask. I have used Malwarebytes in the past based on the recomendation from Terry , did a fantastic job! Oh, and as for the porn thing; I don't need to watch it, I got Sue!
  9. I keep seeing links to this on Face book and I am wondering if it is legit or not. They claim 100% safe, free..... I figure if it sounds too good to be true it probably is but I know that you guys will know the answer. Is it worth downloading or is there a catch?
  10. I guess you are right, in all the years I attended I think I only ever fished for a couple of hours on one of them, I sure wouldn't want that history mared by tragidy! Most of the time I stayed at the shore and manned the BBQs or helped out in what ever way I could. I always had so much fun catching up with all the old friends, meeting new ones; the hugs from all the ladies, Joey's most beautiful smile ! The highlite for me was always hearing about and in later years seeing the progress that Tyler was making and knowing that in some small way we were able to contribute to that progress. I hope that the cold weather this week will firm things up enough that the event can go on, it would be ashamed to see it cancelled but better that than someone not making it home in one piece.
  11. When I got mine I did jump in the lake with it on; I actually tried everything I could to try to submurge and there was no way I could. Water did get into it but even that was limited.
  12. Ok, at my age that might be the highlite of the trip LOL.
  13. Without a passport?
  14. It isn't about the thickness of the ice. It isn't about the size of the fish you catch, it's about the life you enhance! Fishing for Tyler has never been about "fishing", it's always about giving so if we all sit on shore and enjoy the friends we know and the friends we get to know. Then let's fish for Tyler!
  15. And so will I probably! what will be, will be!
  16. Knee is still giving me trouble. Dr. said it's a torn meniscus. They just did an MRI last Monday but I don't get back in to see the specialist until mid March so I won't know what happens next until then. In the mean time I just have to be very careful to not put any side pressure on the knee or it gives out on me then hurts like crazy for a while. Could be a whole lot worse, plenty of people out there wish they had a leg!
  17. ROFMAO
  18. According to the jury but I still have a problem with someone who is trained to handle situations like that, backed up by several fellow officers showing up and within seconds opening fire because he feared for his life.
  19. Sue's are good but yours sound even better! (I didn't say that out loud LOL)
  20. I'm not allowed to cook with booze anymore, Ii kept running out of the ingredients
  21. I never had any doubt my friend, you have always been a man of your word!
  22. I just did one last night that I got from face book and it turned out fantastic. Skinless boneless chicken breasts Season with salt and pepper about 3 to 4 Tbsp of ranch dressing on each wrap with bacon sprinkle with shredded cheese (they used chedar but I used Swiss) Bake in the oven at 400°F for 40 minutes (this part I didn't get from face book) I served it with twice baked stuffed potatoes (added bacon bits, chives, shredded chedar cheese and some ranch dressing to the potatoe before baking the second time @ 400°F for 30 minutes) (just happened to be the right temp. for the chicken) Threw some carrots and mandarin orange pieces into a skillet and made a glaze with the juices and a table spoon of sugar, simmered just until tender (about 5 minutes). We had company over for dinner and it was a big hit!
  23. No problem my friend but I am going to hold you to that promise, you still have to get at least one more kid out ice fishing for a day, doesn't matter who but it would be really nice if it was some kid that wouldn't have had the chance otherwise!
  24. Much more flexability if you drive and the trip down and back can be beautiful but it is two days each way.
  25. Well he got here safe and sound and it was a real pleasure to meet him, a very nice young man and he even gave me a hand to move some shelving and a work bench! BTW Brian I have never noticed any posts with you using that 4 man SubZero portable I gave you last year, did you ever manage to get the two kids out fishing in it?
