Very good, will clear my 18 x 30 garage in 10 minutes when I place one unit in the middle of it. Work great as well when placed behind us when having a backyard fire. When camping, usually place 2 on either side of the main activity area and they make life so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend. Canadian Tire now sell the unit that fits on a butane cylinder, supposed to give you 140 hours of burn time.

Cleaning a flat top is a piece of cake. Just get a product called Weiman Glass top cleaner, you can get it at Home Hardware. Pour it on, wipe with paper towel to clean, then wipe off with another paper towel. Similar to waxing a car. Do it every couple of weeks or after you've had a big spill over and it'll stay like new. And they don't scratch easy at all. A hell of a lot easier than cleaning an element stove where you have to take all parts off and soak them, pain in the ass.

Interesting, will have to add it to my summer time bucket list. Always liked Mountain, easy access, a friend of mine (friend of a friend actually), that I got to know, donated the bottom end of my ice auger to the lake one day. Not sure how he did it, but when he brought it back up, all he had was the handle.

Pickerel in Mountain Lake? I know they're in Gull, are they all through the Hwy 35 lakes now?

How do you get the drone to follow above your truck when you're driving?

If you took the time to notice, the above post was made in 2012. On another note, stopping people from accessing crown land is what should be illegal.
-
No clue, as I won't be making the trip this year. This is a bucket list item, so 2 probably 3 years from now. I like to start researching early, as you can see.

Awesome, thanks very much

Is that because it's closer to where you live? I will be coming from down Kawartha Lakes way, so was thinking of the Sioux Lookout area as a starting point. A bit "smaller" water at that end as well, more narrow channels and bays.
-
Actually Lost Lake looks like a great access point as well.

OK, good. I thought so, but just wanted to make sure there weren't special regulations in place. Thanks for the replies guys. Now, what about access points? There's a place called Deception Point or something like that, on the east end, or would it be better putting in at a resort so the vehicles are in a parking lot and not left alone someplace? I've camped crown land all my life, it's the best way to go, but a trip like this, going in blind, will take some serious planning, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone camped on Lac Seul, utilizing crown land? I've been trying to find info on it, looking at maps of access points etc and came across some posts that said camping on the lake is prohibited except at resorts that offer it. Perhaps the limitation is for non-residents only? Thanks for any info

You can beat the son of B, trust me. Was diagnosed with a very rare form last June, esthesioneuroblastoma, Tumour in my right nasal passage. Only 4 people in 10 million get it. Not a lot of data on it, not much experience treating it. Went through 5 weeks of radiation in July and August, in which the hit the left side of my neck, as I had a suspiciously shaped lymph node as well. Then surgery in October to remove the tumour, various pieces inside the nasal area and the bone between my nasal area and the brain. They then rebuilt the bone with muscle tissue taken from my right thigh. Lost 54 pounds through it all, they took my smell organs as that's where the cancer stems from and I lost my sense of taste as well. Three months later, clean bill of health, no cancer in nose, no cancer in neck, have maintained my weight and feel great, honestly the best I've felt in years. Cancer can be beaten!!! So get in the there, have a great attitude and kick its ass. You can beat it too.

Great videos, I have watched day 6 as well on your youtube channel, very well done and informative. I know that place, stayed on the site next to the one you were on when I was there with my sons and brothers 3 years ago. We went end of August so the whitefish weren't in the mood, but did catch a ton of pike and enough walleye to eat for dinners. First time I was there, many years ago, we were even catching whitefish while trolling shap raps. Beautiful place and now that you have shared your knowledge on the whitefish, I am hankering to get back there again.

The "bay" you are talking about is actually the creek channel, part of the Talbot River, widened due to the dam. There is 5 feet of water in the middle before the dam, but most of that area is shallower than that. There is a portion of Mitchell that has water from 9 to 14 feet, in the largest section on the north side of the highway, but most of the lake is 1 to 6 feet and weedy. We owned a cottage there until I was 15, in the fall and now you can walk along the shoreline as the water draw down exposes the lake bottom. Between Mitchell and Balsam, in the canal, there is a set of guard gates they close during the draw down to keep Mitchell from draining too much.

How would you call this one? (impaired charge)

Me thinks there is more to this story than what is being told, some parts that were left out, or haven't been divulged by the people involved. -
Why the hell wouldn't they close the Nonquon as well?

Lots of junk floating around and what is there needs to be cleaned up (which it won't), no doubt, but I am highly skeptical. More than likely just another case of left wing fear mongering, like the humans being the cause for global warming and CO2 being the end all to be all. Take what you see and hear from the main stream media and throw 90% out the window.

Turning 65 in 2016 - does one need to renew their license?

As I said, I'm not inquiring for myself, I'm only 50. My brother-in-law checked the MNR site and can't seem to find a definitive answer, in his opinion anyway, so that's why I'm asking. -

MNRF closes walleye on Scugog effective Jan 1, 2016
big guy replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Well that's what I am sort of getting at, there are more fishermen than ever, with more access to information than ever before and lakes within easy access from the Golden Horseshoe are under tremendous pressure.
