well my 76 has a little rod and reel so if I drop it in the water I just reel it in ok I made that up but I leave mine on my atv for hours on end in the dead of winter and so far it works well

yeah illegal the way they are doing it but if you used the boat like a planer board .have a release clip and had line cliped on the boat and running to your rod and reel I would say you are good to go
