  1. that was the point in my post the only reason to draw a gun is for self protection or protection of the public....waiting for more cops would have solved the need to draw a weapon the situation doesn't seem to fit the action it's true that we do not have all the details, but that guy should not be a cop his instincts are not very good to draw a gun only to have no charges laid ......it's one thing to find out he didn't need that much force but it turns out he needed no force and totally misread the situation........he might be more suited to handing out parking tickets or carts at walmart
  2. yeah but it's worth it isn't it...LOL note to self, don't give away all my tackle to my kids.......
  3. good luck on friday Brian walk softly...LOL
  4. well this is why some many people no longer respect the cops they seem to use max force and aggression no matter the situation seems coming with the gun drawn was a little much did other cops show up did he show you his ID did you get this info I would be checking to see if he called it in why didn't he wait for back up what was his reasoning for gun seems to me he put you and himself at risk for no reason I would let people know, call the newspaper
  5. and I was as far away as the parking spots were, there were no more parking spots within miles
  6. no you drive your skidoo up to where you park your truck and trailer only to find someone park right to the tailgate of the trailer and another 1 ft in front of your truck so you have to hit the car behind to get away from the car in front enough to pull out and where do you go??????? you have just pulled out fully onto the road so that is where I loaded my skido and hut on took me 18 mintues to do it and by the time I drove away there were about 32 cars waiting behind me honking horns because I was blocking the road and I don't blame them...there is nowhere else to park and load your skidoo other then the parking spot that you are forced to drive out of. because of people who think like you...........
  7. I think the problem is there are only 2 different year class of herring, which is not enough to call it a successful come back a few more years of successful spawning and I think you will see it open
  8. last year I could have caught hundreds of them the screen was black with them and I could see some down the hole, but I never brought my spoon up higher to snag them
  9. thanks for the report and glad you are safe guys do need to know what they are doing....and chip chip walk chip...on the way back in too
  10. well I keep every few fish so I had to decide with license to get I was fishing whitefish on simcoe, with no intent in keeping any that day I had one that couldn't release so I kept it and hour later I had a second one that would not release, I realized that if I had a con. license I would be breaking the law so I decided that I would continue to buy a sports license and not have to let a fish float belly up in the water
  11. I agree with you however change cost money who is going to pay..taxes....triple the cost of our license in many cases it local gov that controls boat ramps and parking and they are reducing them not increasing or maintaining them. the local home owners/cottagers want less traffic at their ramps or on their lakes and less garbage and the local gov listens to the voters..... I guess if we can show/convince them that more fishing opportunities = more tax dollars, = more jobs and is good for local economy, we might get a gov to make some changes
  12. the only advantage of rollers is I have seen very old men crank a boat up onto the trailer in low water with rollers and there is almost no way they would do it with bunks same with coming off the trailer, I have seen them roll off going down the ramp on rollers and I have seen guys push them off rollers, things you would nver do with bunks....
  13. if you are going to drive the boat onto the trailer, bunks all the way
  14. however, if you have their mapcreate program you can put parts of it on a sd card and use it, I think you can make up to 3 of them

  18. I hear you but to me if it's a pinned and updated post it could seem far more official then random post about a day on the ice but I am just giving my opinion, the mods will decide if they want to get involved in this
  19. I don't know if this community wants the responsibility of believing random people that any lake is safe or unsafe.. they post that cooks bay is safe and a guy goes through is this site responsible for not checking the accuracy of the info I don't know I am just throwing it out there
