  1. Look more closely, he's hitting the numbers on Max's shoulder, it's not a headshot. It's just the angle that makes it appear that way.
  2. There will be no suspension: Statement from NHL Sr. V.P. of Hockey Operations Mike Murphy on Chara hit Wednesday, 03.09.2011 / 3:25 PM / News NHL.com Share TORONTO – National Hockey League Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations Mike Murphy today issued the following statement on Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara's hit in NHL game #996 last night against the Montreal Canadiens: "I conducted a hearing with Boston Bruins' defenseman Zdeno Chara with respect to the major penalty for interference and game misconduct that he was assessed at 19:44 of the second period for a hit on Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens. "After a thorough review of the video I can find no basis to impose supplemental discipline. This hit resulted from a play that evolved and then happened very quickly -- with both players skating in the same direction and with Chara attempting to angle his opponent into the boards. I could not find any evidence to suggest that, beyond this being a correct call for interference, that Chara targeted the head of his opponent, left his feet or delivered the check in any other manner that could be deemed to be dangerous. "This was a hockey play that resulted in an injury because of the player colliding with the stanchion and then the ice surface. In reviewing this play, I also took into consideration that Chara has not been involved in a supplemental discipline incident during his 13-year NHL career."
  3. This is really hard to judge... I know almost any Chara hit I've seen looks the same with the left shoulder/arm shoving guys. That's essentially how he hits. It doesn't justify smoking a guy in to the turnbuckle but it makes me think he didn't intend to injure him, it's how he naturally throws guys in to the boards. I sure hope it wasn't intentional, I can't imagine too many guys thinking "I'd love to smoke this guys head right in to the post and break his neck"... As for Max, I just hope he can make a recovery and end up back in the NHL. He'll probably never play the same again sadly.
  4. The bike one is really cool too, although a fall there might be a broken arm/ribs some bruises (or nothing at all). The fact that if you slip walking across a 4" beam hundreds of feet in the air just to take in some cool views freaks me out more for sure. If the bridge crumbles or you slip you die lol
  5. woooow.. when he walked on that little beam cause the path is broken is crazy. Not unless my life depended on it.
  6. There's a great one on shark finning as well (SHARKWATER). It was extremely disturbing seeing these idiots cut off fins and throw them back. The guy behind it was a pretty cool guy and really had a love for sharks. He was arrested during the filming of it for attempted murder when trying to get vessels to leave the waters. Definitely a must see if you're in to those.
  7. The higher end blackberrys are just as quick or close to it. Obviously having a middle man can slow things down the odd time. Also if the BIS Server ever goes down (And it does occasionally) then you won't receive any emails temporarily which can be a big pain. Doesn't happen often but it's not unheard of. All of a sudden you get a batch of emails hours later lol. Rogers offers 15 day returns on I think any cell phone, try what you want out and demand unlimited data for 2 months so you can test out your phone and learn your limits before you pick a plan. This way you can monitor your usage with their software for a week of use and decide if it's going to cost you too much. This way you can pick any phone you want without any worry of repercussion.
  8. No no no, basically when you have a blackberry you are also get a thing called Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). When you browse the web on a blackberry all data goes through the BIS Server then to your phone. THe BIS server compresses the data to 5-6 times smaller than the original content and then the blackberry opens the compressed data on the phone. Think of it like a .zip file, someone might compress 10MB of files to a 3MB zip file to send you an email. After you receive it you open it up and get the full 10MB of data. That's essentially what happens on a blackberry. Basically if you have a blackberry you get away with MUCH smaller data plans compared to a smartphone like iphone or android. They don't compress their data at all, it's just as if you're browsing on your PC with the same data going through. So if you go browse the web, use a facebook app, get emails, etc. and download 100MB of data in a day, you would've only downloaded 10-20MB on your blackberry. BIG savings long term.
  9. My 2 cents - I think it all depends on your location. Are you going to be setting up in a small town? Then your tackle needs to be 100% geared towards the fishing there. That's what matters most. When I stop at a small local bait shop, I'm there for 2 things 1) Pick up my bait and 2) Ask how the fishin' has been and any tips for the area. This is mostly true if I'm fishing an area I rarely go to (Or often never even been to). Having knowledge in the area you are setting up in is the key I think. Also fishing maps to point people in the right direction is needed imo. On the other hand if you're goal is to be in a prime, busy area (Toronto) with Bass Pro & company to compete with, then you need to fix the flaws of the other shops or you're destined to fail. If they are overpriced, undercut them. If their staff is unfriendly & has no knowledge, hire better staff. Etc. Etc. Tackle shmackle, whatever they are weak in has to be your strength. EDIT: Also, as crappieperchhunter said, good hours for a local shop is definitely a must!
  10. Been a blackberry guy for 6 years but in regards to operating systems, I like Android phones the best. I just can't get over the cost for data transfers on smartphones (compared to blackberry) which is why I won't switch.
  11. The reason why people have some freezing issues with blackberry is because you need to actually close the applications, hitting the back button just hides them and not actually closes them which most people don't realize. The limited memory in them (at least older versions of the phone) will crash from it. You can configure one of the side buttons to be an "application switcher" on the bold/curve and that way you can jump between opened programs and close them as needed. This opens up memory and voila your phone will speed up again. Knowing what's opened and closed is the key to keeping it running smoothly, it has nothing to do with the amount of texts or emails sent/day. Also the blackberry app world is a piece of junk and a memory hog. If downloading is your thing, skip BB all together imo.
  12. I've had a blackberry since 05 so my pick is biased but pthere's nothing wrong with either phone(Wife has the Torch). She also had the Samsung Galaxy for a short while before it (Android phone) and it was incredible, I like that phone better than the iphone. Better specs, better screen. Personally I HATE typing on a touchscreen, I just can't get use to it. I mistype constantly. The blackberry torch fixes that problem at least for me (I have a Bold, they are rumours of a Bold touchscreen coming out soon which will be my next upgrade). Also, if you are at all concerned with data plans, blackberries use considerably less data for nearly everything. Everything is compressed, apps are tiny because a lot of blackberries have limited internal storage so you will save a lot of $ each month with a smaller data plan (It's why the Galaxy was returned for the Torch). The iphone has no compression at all and uses more data than any other phone on the market (I just went through this last week). The average Blackberry Bold app/game is only about 2MB or less. Angry Birds for the Samsung Galaxy (Android) is about 100MB. Do the math lol.
  13. If you're doing it alone it just sounds cold & miserable to me and less safe.
  14. I use canadianwebhosting.com - They have datacentres in vancouver & toronto.
  15. Never been to the area, so no gas powered motors allowed? Do you pay for a fee to enter or is it pledges only?
  16. I'm with you, I would've gone after it for sure.
  17. I have a similar issue but only upstairs and mostly contained in 1 room, the one above the garage facing east (New house, moved here in 2007). Frustrating for sure.
  18. Loved it!
  19. I gave up on the Academy Awards years ago when Saving Private Ryan was robbed of Best Picture losing to Shakespeare in Love. Blasphemy
  20. I had a lot of fun fishing with you guys (Regardless of my result lol). Thanks for the advice on switching my jig... too bad I started getting bites at the end of the day haha.
  21. Leaving now, be there in 10 minutes... Weeee
  22. -2 low winds I likey.
  23. Yea although that's only counting 2 games for the leafs, it's going to be a tough stretch of games for them regardless. Also it might be hard to believe but you still can't count out the Devils at this stage. They are a mega long shot sure but they are playing like champs right now. They've won like 8 or 9 in a row and will leap frog Atlanta & Florida in the next week I'm sure.
  24. It was a great game, at least for fans. Exciting all the way through. Sure they are within 4 pts of a playoff berth, but they have a VERY challenging schedule for the 2 weeks. 5 of their next 7 games include pittsburgh twice, philly twice & chicago. That stretch will be due or die, if they can get through that without too much damage I'll be impressed.
